To get it out of the way, I had EBV, epstein barr virus, otherwise known as mono. Except mine manifested as genital ulcers π (I have a π±). This happened when I was 16. If I remember correctly, it normally happens post-puberty from like 13 to 17 or something like that but obviously is extremely rare. AMA.

Did any doctors ever ask if they could document/ use you as a part of a study into the illness given it’s rarity
After how much of suffering time wise and How was this diagnosed? If it is so rare then this wonβt be the first guess of doctor? Neither it will show up in regular blood tests I guess?
