My 86 year old grandmother was getting out of a yellow cab outside of a grocery store. She fell whilst getting out and the cab driver drove off with part of her body still in the taxi and dragged her for a while. She has a broken hip, was unconscious, and has an arm injury. What should my family do in terms of holding someone accountable and financially liable for her medical bills and suffering?

I’m not a lawyer, but you should call the taxi company to report the accident. The taxi company’s insurance should pay for her medical bills and the taxi company would probably like to know that one of their drivers is not suitable for commercial driving.. Call the grocery store and ask the store manager for a copy of any video footage that recorded the incident. Do both of those tomorrow morning. Some surveillance systems only keep footage for a limited time. It wouldn’t hurt to call the non-emergency police line to see if you need a police report. If the store balks at giving you a copy of the video they might give it to the police.
