Location: Wyoming, now at first sight it doesn’t seem like a problem other than the fact that I am turning 18 in a few months, and that’s where my problems start because of how the laws are in Wyoming is because we don’t have a protection clause in our consent laws. So we would 18 and 16 for something close to 10 months ish, until she turns 17 then she would at the age of consent. I just want to know if it is worth continuing this relationship or is it dumb and not safe for me because of the trouble I could get into because the law does not.

Look up Romeo and Juliet laws. This age gap is fine in Wyoming. Just be aware photos of minors are still child pornography.

Review Wyoming Statutes § 6-2-316.
Based on the law i stated above, a consensual sexual relationship between an 18yo and a 16yo is legal in Wyoming, as long as the older person (you) does not have position of authority over the younger person (as specified in subsection (ii)).
The age of consent is 16 in Wyoming. I really don’t know where you got your information but this isn’t illegal. You wouldn’t be in trouble. Just of course make sure it is consensual and you’re not like her manager at work or something (in any position of authority over her)
No state forbids dating. You can hold hands, stroll along the boardwalk, attend a reading of Ezra Pound’s poetry, and share a single sundae with two straws at the malt shop, all legally.
But, young Lochinvar, if your fair Ellen is under the age of consent, and you engage in sexual activity, you run risks. If her parents are aggrieved and insist that you be criminally charged, for example, it might happen.
I think that you might have a defense in Wyoming law, though, because Wyo. Stat. § 6-2-317 seems to suggest you’d have to be at least 21 for sex with a 17 year old to be illegal (barring special situations like being in a position of authority).
But I can’t say I’ve carefully studied Wyoming law. So you shouldn’t rely on this portion of my answer.
