Hey Ladies💕, What’s Your Trick to Wearing High Heels All Day Comfortably?

So one trick that i found useful is to tape your third and fourth toes together before putting on heels. This is supposed to relieve some of the pressure on the nerve between those two toes that causes most of the pain.

Pay extra for nicer heels. Wedges are great for height without as much pain. Boots are great if you walk around of your pumps.

Insoles, anti chafing deodorant (on your Achilles, toes etc), and a good pair of leather shoes. You really shouldn’t cheap out on heels if you can help it. Pay attention to your insoles!

    Don’t.

Go to the bathroom, sit in a cubicle and take them off. Dig out a pair of comfy, cushy flats and stand in them.

Stretch out your feet and massage them when you get a moment to yourself.

I always go for block heels when I’ve got hours of wear.
I find the weight distribution to be easier and much nicer.
If I’m going for a corporate look, sling back block heels are always it for me.

  6. Sea_Confidence_4902 Avatar

Personally, I avoid them. I officially quit heels a decade ago.

But from back when I used to wear them every day, here are my tips:

    • Buy one or two expensive pairs of heels, as nice as you can afford.
    • Stretch your calves really well when you take them off at the end of the day.
    • If you’re wearing them to work, keep them in a desk drawer and wear flats or comfortable shoes for commuting. Wear the heels for the least amount of time possible.

    I wear comfy heels!!! :’)

  8. RebecaHelenaPearson Avatar

I try to make them platforms preferably

  9. pinuplove666 Avatar

Blocky platform heels. I wear Spine Chillers by Midnight Hour and I looooove them. I’m also a toe walker so heels just feel “right”

  10. tinfoilhattie Avatar

Wearing well-designed and well-fitted heels designed for dancing usually. Heels designed for dance tend to be far better designed for long-term high-activity wear than those sold as fashion only.

I don’t. Lol. I don’t think I’ve had heels on in years. I don’t like them. I rarely dress up but when I do I either wear nice flat sandals or boots. Never heels.

  12. miss_j_bean Avatar

Buy comfortable shoes, I also look for heels that have a bit of a platform under the front of the shoe, even if it’s just like a half inch or inch. It gives the look of a higher heel without having to deal with a higher heel.

  13. kryren Avatar

I don’t. All of my office shoes have been flats forever. It helped that at my last job even office people weren’t allowed to wear open toe or heeled shoes. They weren’t allowed on the factory floor and it was hard to not have to walk on the floor at some point. It was just easier to basically ban them.

Pain is beauty, and high heels were invented by men to make it harder for us to run away from them (Edit: This is a joke from “She’s The Man” with Amanda Bynes and not historical fact). That being said, usually I have a pair of ballet flats in my bag so that when my feet get tired, I can change into the more comfortable shoes.

I used to manage them all day in high school but now that I’m in my late 30s with horrible back pain (high heels make the pain worse believe it or not) and have had many ankle injuries between now and then I only wear them when I absolutely want to and even then always bring the back up shoes.

  15. anon______eyes61111 Avatar

It depends but I worn heels all day at work and woke up and hurt my back I couldn’t even move out of my bed the next day it’s like my back went completely out and it was so painful I had to call the paramedics and they gave me very strong pain killers that took two days to go back to normal 😂

I think some women can do it though and applause to them idk the trick I want to know too!

  16. RichCaterpillar991 Avatar

Heels with a pointed toe are much harder on your feet imo, try to find ones with a wide toe bed. For everyday use with a lot of walking I’d stick to lower block heels, save the stilettos for special occasions. Also, take them off and stretch your ankle and foot mid-day

28F. I have worn heels once in my life in Grade 8 for a school play. I mainly wear androgynous dress shoes to formal events or maybe dress sandals if it’s real fancy.

Spray your feet with cold muscle spray you can get in any drugstore – it’s absolutely life changing!

    • go for half a size bigger than you’d normally wear
    • if you don’t do the half size bigger trick, get the adhesive inserts for where the back of the shoe meets your Achilles.
    • gel insoles
    • wider heel is generally comfier
    • wedges are comfier
    • styles with ankle straps can be comfier, but only if they’re well made and actually supportive
    • if you want more height but can’t handle a super high heel, go for a platform
    • choose a style where your toes aren’t too scrunched together – this depends on your specific feet. I used to really love the more rounded toe styles, then a shoe sales associate showed me that with how wide my feet are, it squishes my toes together and makes it painful. Now I go for a longer toe box (usually point toe)
    • break in your shoes. I’ll wear them in my house with socks on. Even just 15 minutes here and there adds up.
    • watch how you’re standing. Make sure you aren’t leaning with all your weight on your toes
    • make sure your toe nails aren’t too long!

There’s no trick. Your feet aren’t designed to wear shoes like that especially not for hours. All heels will hurt your feet at some point.

  21. GiveMeAlienRomances Avatar

I wear wedges or shoes with thicker heels.

  22. doubleblackdoggos Avatar

I’m flight crew and wear them all the time! Block heels and spending a bit more on shoes helps. But honestly just wearing them more often helps to get your feet used to them.

  23. North_Still_2234 Avatar

    I don’t. I’d rather be comfortable.

  24. n0ir_sky Avatar

    I don’t, I wear platforms

  25. panchashree Avatar

    Block heels all the way.

  26. toastforscience Avatar

Practice walking in them, the more you practice the easier it is. Buy shoes with platforms in the front to add stability and decrease heel height (a 3″ heel with a 1″ platform feels like a 2″ heel), and buy shoes with thick heels so that your ankle isn’t trying to balance on those skinny heels. Depending on your outfit, wearing pantyhose or those pantyhose type socks also helps a ton and prevents any chafing or rubbing. Buy leather shoes bc they will breath and mold to your foot as you wear them.

  27. trUth_b0mbs Avatar

throw them in the trash and wear a pair of comfy ballet slippers or slides.

  28. theoneandonlybecca22 Avatar

You don’t. Heels are meant for you to sit down and not walk around in basically. Have sandals, slippers or flats you can wear before get to the occasion or place you’ll be wearing them at.

  29. Geologyst1013 Avatar

Never once in my life has wearing heels been worth it.

  30. linerva Avatar

    I cannot.

    Hope that helps! 😅

First, measure to find out what your ideal heel length is for your foot hint it’s not 6 or 8 inches no ones is then go on from there. Know that your ideal length will strengthen your ankles for four years but that’s it before it will start to make your ankles bad and prone to sprains and dislocations. Go on from there.

  32. meini10 Avatar

Pleasers. Made to wear for hours. Made for dancers but they’re just shoes. Anyone can wear.

  33. Alternative-Sale-841 Avatar

I exclusively wear heels that have a strap around the ankle. I recognized that most of the pain came from flexing the soles of my feet to keep the shoes from slipping off, so now I only buy heels with an ankle strap.

  34. spandexcatsuit Avatar

Fuck heels! I only wear boots with a small chunky heel so if the dress doesn’t work with boots it gets what it gets. Which is probably going to be unapologetic comfort shoes.

  35. starlightsilvermoon Avatar

block heels. 2-3 inches max. i can last 8+ hours in mine. i live in a walking city and have no complaints!

  36. ClerkSuspicious5235 Avatar

Gotta find the right brand. If you’re into luxury shoes, Jimmy Choo is one of my favorites for comfort.

  37. perfect__payne Avatar

You gotta break them in and condition your feet. I wear mine while cleaning around the house, especially when I know I’ll be wearing them soon. This is the only thing that has helped me. Also, look at a stripper TikTok to see how to add more traction to some heels. I usually use hot glue on the bottoms of mine, and it helps so much.

  38. cjtree Avatar

I wore heels all the time (because I’m short) and now I’m paying for it because i developed a foot problem called Morton’s Neuroma, which is a thickening of the nerve between the toes. I have to get multiple steroid injections and possible surgery to remove the nerve as last resort. Take the warning from me!

Carrying a pair of flats in your bag.
