typo- rageful not raeful or whatever it says
how do I not allow things to consume me when im angry about them? They say anger is self punishing because the guilty party does not feel what you feel, but how do I not allow this to happen???? Im at work holding back tears of rafeful frustrated anger because of something that happened last night.

In the moment or after?
I don’t think feeling anger after the incident, whatever that may be, is by itself a terrible thing. People are emotional creatures, we always have some sort of emotion.
That said, I think the best you can do is quite simply to realize that you are angry. As long as you’re aware of your emotional state, you’re less likely to do something stupid, and you’ll be better equipped to process it.
I just blast metal music until my anger passed. At work when I’m frustrated I just remind myself to take deep breaths.
For me this was 2 things…
– Food, i cut out a food which seem to make me highly strung, this allowed me a change of mind set (below)
– It could be your expecting too much from life… for me this was expecting other people to actually be bothered and care, once i dropped that i already expected them to double cross me or not hold to there word. It also works for stuff, so most things will fail before the warrnaty and you will likely not hear back from the vendor to get a replacement, this mindset change allows me to make better decisions known the outcome, if they are slightly better then its a win
