TIFU! Everywhere I look I’m seeing Father’s Day ads for either personal grooming devices, lawn care equipment, or tools! When Mother’s Day rolled around, it was jewelry, flowers, spa treatments, and chocolates.
Now here is the F’up! I poured my heart out to my wife about the inequalities in life and how us Father’s aren’t treated fairly. She listened closely while trying not to laugh, but in the end she couldn’t keep it in. Then I got the list of all the things I’m NOT doing around the house. Next time I know to keep my thoughts to myself. 🙂
The sad thing is I really did want a new lawn mower, and now I’m going to end up with a new razor and a bottle of car wash soap.
TL;DR: Tried to explain how fathers aren’t treated as well as mothers, and now I don’t get a new lawn mower.

It’s almost like all those companies actually know what fathers want.Â
So you complained about something you actually want?
Do you often argue for the sake of arguing?
I want to know where you live because those items all tend to be bumped in price around Mothers/Father’s Day, or Christmas.
Buy yourself a nice lawnmower on sale 🙂
One of the reasons I choose not to “celebrate” those days
Moms have to do a lot more physical labor to create a child, so it makes sense that traditional gifts for them are about relaxation. Meanwhile, you complained about companies thinking that men want lawnmowers, and now you aren’t being gifted the lawnmower they accurately pinpointed
So did you want jewelry, flowers, spa treatments, and chocolates?
Have you considered that company’s spent lots of money figuring out what people want and puts those things on sell? It’s not the sellers you should be upset with, it’s the buyers.
I can’t believe people on here are complaining about extra gifts, beyond what kids give them… It’s father’s day, not husband’s day SMH
I’m confused….would you prefer flowers and a spa treatment? Sounds like you want the lawn mower…..can you explain how fathers are seemingly mistreated compared to mothers???
I am fine with you complaining about this as long as you’re making sure your wife has a full stocking and some fun gifts at Christmas.
I do a ton of stuff around my house: cook, clean, grocery shopping, lawn work, take out the trash, etc.
You know what I get for Father’s Day? Bl0w J0bs, bourbon, and cigars.
