Being busy at work can be very challenging, but at least it makes the day pass. Being bored is like slow torture. Sure, it’s nice once in a while, but a consistently boring job that requires nothing of you other than your physical presence is more soul-sucking than always being busy.

I’m sure this is situational for a lot of people and what job they have, but I agree. I’d much rather be busy at work than have nothing to do.
I work in electrical and this is very true. Though it sucks when you have deadlines or you’re being rushed the day will fly by when you have plenty to do. If you have nothing to do its torture.
I don’t have this problem..!
It’s very true. I find myself procrastinating about starting work but then very bored by my procrastination. Once I force myself to get going on projects, I’m happier.
I agree, but as long as I have my phone to watch nonsense, I prefer that than working. But if I have no phone, I prefer to work or do any task.
I agree I have such a boring retail job rn just to get some extra cash cause I’m in university and when I tell you I dread even going in for 4 hour shifts because it’s so boring. I’ve had to become the work clown to just make shit fun. Goes by so slow. I’d rather do a really busy job and forget I’m actually there for 8 hours.
I don’t think this is particularly unpopular. I think most people would rather be busy than twitting their thumbs all day, everyday.
Whole heartedly agree. I’ve spent the last few weeks doing mostly nothing at work for 8 – 10 a day.
Agree I’m having this problem rn
True, when I started my new job they didn’t really want me to work on stuff just acclimate to the work environment. I got bored the first 4 hours at the job, so I pestered my coworkers and boss for work to do. Ever since then the week flies by.
