Is it normal for it to feel so bad when my vaginal walls are touched? Not sure if anyone else experiences this

r/

This isn’t a medical question, I know the title sounds like it, but I was mainly looking to see if other people felt this. I hate the feeling of my vaginal walls being touched. I have a very tight vagina and need vaginal dilation, and I’ve been working up the sizes but the thing blocking me the most from pushing things in fully is the feeling when it bumps my walls. It doesn’t necessarily hurt, but it’s a sharp feeling, like im about to be punctured almost. It’s such an uncomfortable pressure from just bumping it, and it’s really preventing me from doing anything because I hate the feeling of my walls being touched or knocked. Does anyone else get this uncomfortable sensation? A lot of people seem to think it feels good, but it just makes me nauseous

I’m pretty sure I have this too! After a bit I get used to the sensation but the beginning is the worst part 🫠 Makes me feel a little queasy. Not sure what causes it tho

have you talked to your dr about this? I would talk to your dr and rule out anything physical. it might just be mental and making your body tense up. I have never experienced this though. not to ask too much but what are you trying to insert? tampons? we dont have that many nerve endings in the area(which seems weird) so you should be experiencing some pressure but never pain.

Do you use lube? Penetration can definitely be uncomfortable if you dont have BUCKETS of lube, like way more lube than you think youd need.

Sounds like a low estrogen problem. Causes vaginal wall thinning and dryness that would cause pain when touched. Get your hormones checked with an endo.

In my experience it should not feel sharp, should be more like a dull deep internal pressure sensation. None of the sensations are as distinct as touching the back of the hand for example, it’s way more indistinct and simply “pressure” and that’s where it feels good for me

I hope you’re able to figure it out, you’re definitely not alone in this though

I think I’m slightly confused…. How is it “bumping” the walls? Are you doing pelvic floor PT? If you leave a dilator in without movement, do you feel the pain? Do you feel the same pain when your PT is doing exercises with you?
