This may seem a stupid question but I could never understand it.
When there are pubs where ‘Stags are not allowed’ and other womens only private spaces. I am ok with it since it is a private space but why potential law suits and discrimination when its men only.
And you know there have been attmepts in history to make such polices but they have witnessed massive protests and hate.
How is that fair ? If women can have their official safe spaces and flaunt so why cant men?

Nothing to do with the law (mostly), just capitalism. There’s less of a market for male-only spaces outside of gay bathhouses.
What country are you talking about? Different countries have different laws, and since you’re asking a legal question the answer depends on where you mean.
Generally? Because historically, businesses excluding women led to women not being able to fully participate in society. This led to major issues of discrimination against women, women not having the same rights as men, etc.
I can’t speak to why some places allow women-only spaces without knowing the specific location. Where I am, businesses generally can’t exclude men.
I feel like this is pretty self explanatory. For essentially all of human history, men have been in positions of power. We don’t really need to advocate for male-only spaces since there are and always have been a lot of options that cater to men
Men do have spaces. They just tend to be for specific things.
There are male mental health support groups and organisations, male SA survivor groups, and others.
And then there are also men only spaces specifically catering to gay and bi men.
“Stag party member” is not a protected class. Bars have very reasonable argument that stag parties involve misbehavior, safety and sanitation concerns that are not common among general public, both male and female.
Women-only events and private spaces occupy only a fraction of businesses space and time. Thus, businesses have a reasonable claim that they are not discriminating based on gender since they are providing perfectly good service to men most of the time. It also helps that for these businesses most customers are men.
Move country
Part of the historical reason was that business was intentionally being conducted at men only clubs which excluded women from being able to do their jobs It was less about it being a private club and more that and more that it was defacto discrimination against women on the basis of gender in the workplace.
Social pressure helped end the popularity of such clubs and organizations over time. Men’s only clubs can still exist in North America, they just aren’t popular anymore.
ive been to a men only place & they say the way they can legally do that is that they had to register the business as a “private club” (not a night club kind of club, but like a membership club) where the members have to pay a membership fee to join and they are allowed to decide the rules for who is or is not allowed in.
The places that want to exclude men typically do it to protect their patrons from men.
The places that want to only allow men do it to deny something to others, or in a petulant “what about meeeeee” response to the first thing I said.
Out of interest, why would you want such a thing? I do think it should be allowed, but I’m not sure I’d ever have a reason to go to a men only place over just a normal version of the place. Maybe if I was trying to be celibate and didn’t want to get made horny or something?
There are a lot of men only places in the Middle East
Because you’ll have a harder time convincing a judge that you need a male only pub because contrary to popular belief, legal authorities are people too and they cannot comprehend why men would not want to be around women
Women asked for safe spaces because women get attacked, and sometimes kidnapped or murdered, on unsafe spaces.
Men ask for safe spaces because everyone else had safe spaces, and they didn’t like bringing excluded.
There’s a difference.
Because it doesn’t fit the narrative.
But also. Dudes don’t generally get sexually harassed buy gangs of women… unless you are Hugh Jackman or Ryan Reynolds or those types.
The situation you’re describing only exists in Imagination Land
Anybody can be sued for any reason if a lawyer thinks it will result in more money, prestige, or attention.
If such a place exists, you should sue. You’d probably have a case in court. You’d also be tried in the court of public opinion.
