    Schrecklich.

Fuck him and all his techbro buddies.

Put that in your database, du wixxe.

  2. bad_syntax Avatar

I work with Palantir at work. I find them pretty incompetent and their software poor.

    Their CEO is a nutjob.

I put $1k in them a year ago, and pulled out when i found out who the CEO was. Had I kept it I’d have $4k today, so I put $4k this week back into them to hopefully lose it all as they fold. Or if not, make some back since they keep getting government contracts.

As a 30 year IT veteran, and a 7 year army veteran, I can 100% assure you that just because the government or military use some software, that does not mean its any good, and its far more likely to be very poor in quality.

EDIT; Oh, and how do I feel about them having all info on US citizens? Well, that info is already around thanks to social media and corporate user tracking, so it is just consolidating stuff. Maybe it’ll make us all get off social media some day whenever you can’t even complain about somebody without fear of “disappearing” into some prison in El Salvador.

  3. Pretty-Balance-Sheet Avatar

I assume that with the data DOGE stole (seems like really the only thing they were there to accomplish) the DB is already well under way and is being tied to every CRM known to man even as we speak.

  4. Elfich47 Avatar

I expect several laws are being broken and this is going to come to a screaching halt and indictments will come out after that.

  5. IslandBoyardee Avatar

He groomed some hillbilly twink into the vice president of the US.

I feel like he’s probably going to get away with whatever he’s doing. I’d prefer he didn’t. But there’s rarely any real justice in this world.

  6. MoeSzys Avatar

    It’s bad

  7. sexmormon-throwaway Avatar

They fucking hijacked a Tolkien name for nefarious purposes. Thiel is making the world a much worse place.

    Edit: a word

  8. dvx6 Avatar

That not enough Americans even know about this.

  9. RobbleDobble Avatar

Knowing who the CEO is and what his views are.

    Its terrifying.

Having read what they are doing in Palestine, I have no words for how much this worries me.

Roughly the same thoughts I have on the 34 time convicted felon rapist who bankrupted 4 casinos being POTUS.

Roughly the same thoughts I have on the world’s richest Nazi being given carte blanche to take an axe to social safety nets.

Roughly the same thoughts I have on an alcoholic Fox News host being SecDef.

Need I go on? Idiocracy wasn’t meant to be a documentary, and 1984 wasn’t supposed to be a how-to manual. 2025 was the first time in my life I could say that I was legitimately ashamed to be an American.

  18. RosieDear Avatar

We are ruined. This is the worst idea in history…..as is lots of the current mess from this administration (searching social media for folks who are anti-american?)

  21. BikingInPangea Avatar

This is top level scary shit

  22. ThrowawayMod1989 Avatar

Can’t say I didn’t absolutely see it coming. It’s all written in P2025. At my age and with my lack of any real obligations all I gotta do is stay outta the dissenter camps. If that means I gotta go live in the woods again then so be it. These conservatives love Ruby Ridge so much they better be ready to play when they come for me.

  23. Danominator Avatar

Conservatives are inexplicably super supportive of a massive surveillance apparatus.

  24. Ayste Avatar

Let us be realistic – the Federal government was hacked last year, I believe, and all of our sensitive information has been on the dark web since then. All of it for sale to the highest bidder.

Every other week, someone is stealing all of our data from a bank, passwords to accounts, or through phishing/spam infecting phones and PCs at an alarming rate.

Then, the Doritos Locos Taco gets into office and allows Elon Musk to literally go around and steal all the information that every governmental department had on you, upload it to his own servers, and walk away. A private citizen was given the ability to do that.

If you think, for one second, that anyone in DC cares about your right to privacy, protecting your health records, or anything else, you are sorely mistaken.

Peter Thiel can use some of his money to just go buy the data and create a master database from there.

  25. Sea_Perspective6891 Avatar

Should be unconstitutional & definitely seems illegal. Definitely also seems like a privacy rights violation assuming that still exists. Of course the president & his cronies are probably exempt so they don’t care. My main concern is what if they get hacked due to lousy security & peoples personal info gets leaked to the dark web? We all remember the Equifax breach. People have already had experienced identity theft because of it & people didn’t even have any affiliation with that company but somehow they got peoples SSNs & other personal data & had it stored on unsecure servers. I think there should be at least some level of consent to giving away personal data to such a system.

  26. apaulogy Avatar

I think Peter Thiel is a soft, blowhard narcissist with sociopathic tendencies.

He is terribly afraid of dying and throws billions of dollars into anti-aging technologies, no matter how stupid.

He is another weak nerd who thought he was special.

Bill Burr said it best. “Why the fuck are afraid of the people we gave wedgie to in high school now?”

I think Peter Thiel and Alex Karp both need a fucking swirlie. Curtis Yarvin should be strung up the flagpole by his underwear.

As far as their access to my info, I mean, fucking do something about it? I’m already fucked and mostly have nothing to lose anyway.

    Fuck them.

  27. ABobby077 Avatar

Why should we trust anything associated with Peter Thiel?? Under what Congressionally authorized and appropriated legal basis is this taking place??

  28. TylerBourbon Avatar

It’s a vile company owned by a massive POS who cosplays as a human.

  29. AGuyAndHisCat Avatar

They already had it.  I toured their company around 20years ago, they were already importing data from private companies, they already had govt contracts and likely had access to govt data, and I’d be shocked if they didn’t have connections to a bunch of cia data vacuums.

I dont think anything has changed except now they are making it public.  And I’m guessing it’s to make it easier to use the data in court cases.

  30. EmbraceResistance825 Avatar

We are in fascist hell thanks to a largely uneducated populace

  31. CyberSmith31337 Avatar

I’m concerned, but not because of Thiel, Palantir themselves, nor their CEO. I’m concerned because they’re drafting the blueprints on how to capture a government, consolidate all their data, and build a profiling-purposed database that reaches across spectrums.

Palantir is going to fuck it up, 100% certainty there. However, whomever follows after them or even in parallel with them is going to end up hacking them, having a functional enough database of Americans and everything known about them, and that entity will almost certainly end up selling said data to crime bosses who operate in the dark (blackmail, extortion, ransom, etc).

American tech is laughably insecure as it is, but that’s mainly because it is all fractured and fragmented and mostly useless without assembly. Palantir is going to assemble it (or try) and even if they fail, someone else out there won’t. That’s the part that alarms me. Add in the fact they are incorporating unreliable AI agents? It’s the ultimate accident waiting to happen.

  32. Latter-Possibility Avatar

That company will be the death of us all but before that the returns to the investors will be phenomenal

  33. Krail Avatar

    Can we revolt yet?

  34. sniksniksnek Avatar

Something very bad needs to happen to the owner of that company.

  35. LostSharpieCap Avatar

That man is evil. That company is evil. Anyone who shrugs it off is fucking stupid.

  36. Dragon_yum Avatar

You know how sometimes people frame a question to tell people how they should you feel?

  37. OldBanjoFrog Avatar

I hate it, and have no choice.

  38. Rare-Confusion-220 Avatar

One of the most scary things going w our govt right now. I’ve deleted all social media accounts outside of Reddit and TikTok and not sure how long I’ll keep these

  39. Just_the_faq Avatar

do non-Americans think its not their info either? crazy to think Prism was early 2000’s.

  40. yeenon Avatar

Thiel thinks the world should be run like a corporation. NRx crap. He keeps a low profile because when he opens his mouth it’s too easy to tell that he is a sociopath. He also thinks he and his tech bro stooge buddies are such geniuses that they deserve to rule over the working class and decide what we all deserve. Thats probably why they want to buy Greenland, to create some sort of dystopian tech-state.

So, to answer the question: he is one of the worst people in the world to give this sort of information to. He has no empathy for human beings and would prefer we all die if it makes things better for him. I’m not a fan.

  41. nothing_pt Avatar

Thiel is way worse than his former business pal Musk

  42. mountains4mama Avatar

It sucks for ANYONE to have our private information.

  43. friendly-sam Avatar

Well the secret police will need information to start gathering up the non-compliant people.

  44. mykepagan Avatar

Palantir scares the shit out of me

  45. galaxy_to_explore Avatar

It’s creepy and evil. Tolkien would 100% disapprove of his creative name being used for a bunch of glorified spyware that’ll likely be used to create a police state  oppressive enough to make Big Brother blush.

  46. bellevegasj Avatar

Incredibly dumb people I know think these robber barons are doing everything they can for them. I’ve never seen this level of delusion in my life.

I think in the end it will be good. They’ll gut every good program, squeeze every penny out of us and America will fall. We’ve been at war 93% of our history. We’re the number 1 source of chaos around the world. It’s time we fall.

And the Republican Party is leading this charge

  47. krispru1 Avatar

Thiel sponsored and mentored JD Vance into what he is today Its infuriating that this company can have access to our data

  48. 100LittleButterflies Avatar

I had a job interview with them. They had all the tech goodies they think is a green flag but is actually a massive red flag. Like a dorm room in case you need a nap, because working so long is expected. Free beer so you don’t have happy hour but just drink while working. That kind of thing. Never in my life expected to hear about them again.

Their tech was built for the CIA/Intel community to target and track people and networks around the world. Take what you want from that.

  49. bryzzatheleo Avatar

The people who are surprised by this have not been paying attention. Snowden warned us in 2013. It is super illegal, but I am not surprised that this happened. Fuck Thiel and everyone who voted for this. Free Palestine.

  50. SemperPutidus Avatar

It’s a public company. Thiel owns 4.5% of the company, but his shares do have 10x voting power over class A shares.

  51. truckingon Avatar

    It’s death to America.

  52. butwhywedothis Avatar

1984 was a novel ahead of its time. There were people who read it went about their own business. There were other people who read it and decided to make it a reality.

  71. GandhiDalaiKingJr Avatar

palantir one of the shadiest companies i can think of. incredible market cap but no ordinary person knows what they do.

  72. BojukaBob Avatar

Peter Thiel is the actual villain in the US right now. He owns JD Vance, he owns Trump, and he is not a believer in democracy. He’s also the closest thing to an actual vampire, as he receives regular blood transfusions from younger people in pursuit of extending his own life (the science behind which is dubious at best).

  73. gratefulbill1 Avatar

Going to make the job so much easier for the brownshirts when they come for you! Efficiency after all is a hallmark of the fascists

  77. thaKingRocka Avatar

Not cool. But I figure Thiel already knows how I feel about it.

  78. Cherry_zsa Avatar

The idea of them having unfiltered access to all info on every American sets off a few alarm bells for a lot of people. Some folks say, if you’re not doing anything wrong, you’ve got nothing to worry about But come on that’s a slippery slope. Nobody likes the idea of some private company, especially one so cozy with the government, just sifting through your personal info like it’s no big deal. Plus, mistakes happen and people get flagged for dumb stuff. Or there’s bias in the system. And suddenly you’re in a mess you didn’t even see coming. At the same time, others argue that companies like Palantir do help with national security. That’s valid too but there should be a clear the line about that.

  79. wbgookin Avatar

I don’t care who owns the company, nobody should have complete unfiltered access to all my info but me.

  80. shichiaikan Avatar

    Same thoughts I had 5 years ago…

These people want a dedicated, hardline police state where anyone who’s not an oligarch is an indentured servant. This is not hyperbole, they want 99% to be working class, stuck in debt to the corporations that own the state, so that they can guarantee profits for generations. It’s a complete regression toward legalizing slavery again, just with extra steps and corporate ownership instead of private.

One of the things they need in order to achieve this, is a way to privately monitor all citizens, without any legal recourse for private citizens being able to see whats in that data.

It’s pure evil, late stage capitalism at its finest, and it’s a practical inevitability if we don’t fire almost everyone in congress (50% are with it, 25-30% are complacent) over the next 4-6 years.

  81. Dull-Revolution-132 Avatar

I hope it tanks their stock price

  82. knight4honor Avatar

    Horrific and dangerous.

  83. whitecollarpizzaman Avatar

I personally hold the nihilistic point of view that my information is already in enough places that it doesn’t really bother me that someone else has it. With that being said, it’s still bullshit, but from the perspective of being “scared.” Why should I be? The change needs to come from electing competent and ethical leaders, trying to control the flow of data itself is a losing battle, like sticking your finger in the dam while it crumbles.

  84. Notacat444 Avatar

I hate it. This was always the natural evolution of the Patriot Act.

  97. Icefyre24 Avatar

I assume that what I write here will eventually inevitability be seen by someone, or some AI, at some point, at Palantir. Whether in the near term, or in the somewhat (semi) distant future.

Which is good, because I want Peter Theil brought from his happy slumber over there on Dipshit Lane with all the other rich people, and I want him brought right here…with a big ribbon on his head! And I want to look him straight in the eye, and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-assed, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed, sack of monkey sh*t he is! Hallelujah!

    Go to hell Peter.
