DAE feel like Eurasian cities are theme parks rather than actual cities?

I’m talking about places like London, Paris, Beijing, Amsterdam, Singapore, etc…

And I guess by extension similar places like NYC, SanFran, and Sydney

Kind of yeah. Beyond the fact that many theme parks have parts built to mimic some of these famous cities, it could be something akin to uncanny valley. At least for me, it tickles a similar part of the brain. For example, when I see a familiar place, eg, a grocery store or traffic signs, but in a totally foreign place, it feels so familiar yet so different, it almost feels fake

Nope. I’ve been to several of those and there are all sorts of odd little places off the beaten track.
