I buy a new one if the old one becomes too ugly to use or becomes too damaged to use. I have a big one for work and two smaller purses for non-work use.
I might put a few essentials in a small crossbody/backpack for hiking or small clutch for special occasions. Other than that I’ve been using the same purse for 7 years. I should probably replace it but I haven’t quite found the perfect one yet.

I don’t. I keep the same one until it falls party or I see one i really like and buy it.
If they have lots of compartments, look neutral enough to go with everything, and are durable, then never. I’ve been using my Kipling one for a while.
However I do have a few small fanny packs that I rotate through based on outfit/mood when I don’t need a whole purse.
