How do you help your grieving partner go through the struggle of losing a pet?

Back in 2023, a little over a year into our relationship, my girlfriend lost multiple senior dogs of hers that she was with for many years. As someone who gave her deep concern about her well-being, I had the idea back then that giving her a puppy would be able to alleviate some of the sadness she was going through during the ordeal. But just today, one of her senior dogs also passed away, then it came to me that me giving her a puppy was just a temporary help that I gave as that will eventually die as well, and I unknowingly gave her something to grieve in the future. How can I give her comfort that will not turn into another grievance?

I comfort her, be there for her, and understand her situation as well because as of right now, nothing can switch her grieving off, but I want to do something more and I would love to know your takes and suggestions. Thanks a lot.
