Looking for casual and stylish clothes. I’ve found myself just starting to wear black/ white shirts and shorts or jeans and feel like I should work a little more on that
Where do you shop for clothes in your 30’s?

At a store that has styles you like.
I’ll probably get shit for this but I like Duluth. Feels like their pants are the only ones that last longer than a year.

I am content with this. I am never going to be a fashonista.
Get yourself a stitch fix subscription. I’ve had one for 3 years now. I get a box of new clothes once a month and all my shit is comfortable and fresh. Never have to go to the mall, no unexpected big expenses from mall visits, nothing. Then once every 2 weeks I drop my shit at the dry cleaners. All in $350 a month and I stay fresh.
Costco baby
Surf shops, Costco and whatever store my parents get me a gift card to on Christmas.
I still have the clothes from when I was younger.
T shirts from Target. Summer shorts from Eddie Bauer. Work outfits from Charles Tyrwhitt. White Ts and boxer briefs form Calvin Klein. Shoes from Allen Edmonds
Kinda all over the place.
I prioritize local brands, and high-quality stitching/material where possible. I also make some of my own stuff now like jeans and tops, and I’m hoping to make way more for myself in the years to come.
Ultimately my rule is to exclusively buy things I 1) enjoy wearing, and 2) can wear for years to come. That means no fast fashion (low quality materials/construction) unless it’s surprisingly good quality/style, and nothing produced abroad if there’s a more local option.
Money is a factor as well of course, but I can afford the mid-level stuff I like and I just avoid the high fashion and luxury brand stuff.
Kohls mainly.
I buy my jeans and boots at the local Boot Barn, and get most of my shirts online. If I need something special I go wherever that seems most likely to be.
I’m struggling with this, I’ve worn scrubs all my life and now I’m in a professional role and having to think about what I wear for the first time in my life.
Walmart and Amazon.
Speaking from experience, if that’s your current level of fashion sense then even the most basic stores like Walmart or Target have all you need. Target surprisingly has good men’s clothes. Get a few chinos, some buttoned down shirts and you’re already more stylish than the vast majority of dudes out there.
Old Navy
Thrift stores. The discount rack at Eddie Bauer and Banana Republic. Kohl’s.
Uniqlo and buckle for jeans.
Plato’s Closet. Pennies on the dollar!!!
Costco
I get my jeans from Origin Maine. 100% American made from cotton seed to finished product. Sizes are remarkably accurate.
I’ve been gifted nearly all of my shirts that have buttons.
Most of my work shirts (skilled blue collar) have been provided by suppliers. If I do need something more, Walmart is generally good enough. If I need a step up from that, the outlet mall does really well.
UNIQLO, Banana Republic, J. Crew, COS are brands you can start with
Buy decent clothes in natural fabrics, it’s pretty easy to find 100% cotton.
Then take them to a decent tailor. Preferably Korean.
That’s what matters.
If you’re willing to spend the money, and tailoring is not expensive at all, you can even get your t-shirts tailored
Marshall’s
Uniqlo for my basics. Levi outlet for jeans Department stores also – I like the menswear at Rodd and Gunn. Random places otherwise eg little independents
Our local farm supply has my stuff on order. But i wear work pants, Carhartt t shirts, and Thorogood work boots every day.
Dillards for decent clothes. Sam’s Club bass pro and Amazon for work clothes.
Express
For pants I still can’t find anything better value than American Eagle. They have excellent stretchy material and they go on sale often enough for less than $30 which is fantastic for what you get.
I wear whatever my wife buys me. Otherwise, I’d still be wearing the same shit from 15 years ago, lol.
Amazon and Walmart. I don’t need anything fancy. But honestly the George brand at Walmart has some pretty nice button up shirts for work or going out that are only $5 each so I usually go for those.
I’m 19 about to be 20 but all I wear is jeans and Gildan shirts from the website “Jiffy” and goodfellows t shirts I buy from target. The jiffy stuff is really good if you’re on a budget but either way it’s really comfortable.
Allsaints, Bally, Schott, Paul Smith. Pretty much go to all the sample sales and buy it for 90% off retail.
