I had a non-cancer-related mastectomy in my 20s. AMA

I had innumerable benign tumors in both breasts, finding the first one at 14yo. Had some removed as a teen. Got pregnant at 22 and the hormones caused one to grow over 6cm. Opted to just fully remove both breasts and get DIEP reconstruction. Was eligible for skin-sparing but not nipple-sparing, just had my nipple reconstruction about 2.5 weeks ago, will be able to get them tattooed to be the right color in Sept/Oct as long as healing continues to go well.
