I went to Catholic school for exactly one year before being asked not to return (expulsion lite) by the administration for not being Catholic enough. It was second grade. My teacher there told my mother I was “not the brightest rocket in the class” and that she should hope I “marry a good Christian boy to take care of me.”
Thankfully my mother told her to get fucked, and I got a real, actual college degree.
A nice thought to remember with all these right wing wing weirdos is that trump is 79 and very unhealthy. They all rely on his showmanship and when he’s dying in hospital, their grifts are going to collapse around them
If ever there was an appropriate time to say “Ok, Boomer” it’s this.
I had to deal with this shit when I was a teen. Over 40 years ago. “What do you need to go college for? You’ll never be anything but a wife and mother.” Also “Don’t work, you’re taking a job away from a man with a family to support.”
I guess I should add that I am a wife and mother so yay I got an MRS but I also have an MPA. And have worked at jobs at higher pay than the hubs, no shade on him. WE’VE done well for our family.
I come from a culture that values both education and marriage/family. I don’t know why American conservatives are so anti-education. These are not mutually exclusive
What gets me is how condescending he is towards women’s education given the current state of education disparity. And he also just mad things up about, “That’s why women in the 70s/80s/90s went to college.” But they’re kids so they’ll believe that utter nonsense 💀
>For the under-40s reading this, the phrase “MRS degree” refers to going to college for the express purpose of getting married to an educated man. Kirk said the girls in attendance should “be clear that’s why you’re going to college.”
Actually I highly recommend families to have this perspective. This is my mom’s upper class side of the family perspective. All the women went to university to find a white collar upper class husband.
I was able to use this to get free college from my family. Didn’t date anyone in college but I also have zero student loans. Fantastic system to game.
This is the kind of shit I reference when I argue with people who say that it’s inherent that women choose lesser paying careers or to be stay at home mothers.
No one ever tells any boys that their career path should be finding a woman to take care of them. Never. Yet girls are not just presented with this as an option, there are entire segments of our society that encourage it.
And this is one of, if not the largest factor in why women make these choices, and men do not.
(I am not demeaning any of those choices, I am not commenting on any specific woman’s choice. I fully support and love whatever choice you have made for yourself. I am, however, pointing out that boys and girls are not raised in the same way, and that contributes to the stats.)

Says man who looks like a thumb.
Wild how anyone can think that sending their daughter to a leadership group ran by that piece of shit is a good way to support their daughter.

These dipshit creeps run the majority of the country now. It makes me physically ill.
There’s a 50/50% of divorce rate for Mrs degrees and it’s a direct path to poverty if that happens. Sad facts!
What a disgusting individual, it’s freighting to think it’s not just him though, that whole movement just views women as incubators and maids.

What a nasty person.
It does not make sense for a woman to go to college to get a husband, there are fewer men going to college now.
I grew up with a very strong mom. It took me reading all 38 comments to realize what an MRS degree was.
Remember, Charlie Kirk supports the Palestinian genocide
I would be like how about no. Or even better oh the 50s called. They want you back.
