It’s fine. It gets you in shape, helps you feel better.

The problems happen when you start getting vain about your appearance; you put up IG thirst trap photos for validation; and you film yourself at your gym and complain when men look at you a second too long.

  3. Then_Evidence_8580 Avatar

Fitness is good. Doing things you enjoy and make you feel good is good.

  4. Gunnin54 Avatar

I’m good with it just don’t be one of those people who record everything at the gym and end up on a Joey Swoll Video

It’s okay to an extent but can also be scary. I have a friend from high school in Russia who became a bodybuilder. I don’t even recognize her anymore, her voice is deeper than mine.

  7. whoneedsachaser Avatar

I prefer dating girls who lift lol. I get a workout partner, we both look and feel good, it’s a “free” date

  8. DisgruntledWarrior Avatar

I think we all know there’s different varieties of gym goers so maybe be a little more specific. Because no guy is going to draw issue with a woman tending to physical health.

Good on them for taking care of themselves proactively.

  12. TheThinker21 Avatar

Love it. Wish more women did.

  13. J_Robert_Oofenheimer Avatar

I love muscles on women. Go nuts.

  14. Soyeahnahh Avatar

I don’t think about women who lift

  15. Xallama Avatar

Good for them, but i in general like feminine women that’s what i prefer. I dated two lifters and one was hardcore like broad shoulders and hands of an Olympic champ, it didn’t do it for me (I lift too and have a decent physique) I like some tenderness and prefer fit or skinny girls (like walking / light workout) but that’s me, those WWE girls don’t do it for me

  16. Mythnam Avatar

Nice, love that for you. I hate the gym, and the only weight training I do is with a couple 20-lb dumbbells, and I sort of assume that women who lift are into men who are as into lifting as they are. So if they somehow do want to date me, they kinda have to make the first move.

  17. AleksandrNevsky Avatar

I think about them a lot.

Lady muscle is a wonderful thing and it’s a cruel twist of fate that muscle building is harder for them.

  18. zzzongdude Avatar

i only date women who deadlift 300lb for reps

  19. Ruminations0 Avatar

I admire their dedication, but I don’t know if I would fit into their lifestyle as a Soft Skinny

  20. Soigne87 Avatar

I think regular exercise is important for long term health. I find frailty unattractive and prefer women with some muscle on them. It is hard to imagine a woman too muscular. I think the bodies of competitive female body builders are unattractive but I think at least 90% of that is the very low body fat they compete at.

  21. AlternativeResort477 Avatar

Good for them. They will be bigger than me since I run 60-80 miles per week

  22. Strontium_9T Avatar

Fine, as long as they’re not taking steroids. When they do that, they look too masculine.

  23. puffandpill Avatar

I love these general questions, as though all men think the same.

I’d say a lot more men see it as cool/attractive/normal than they would’ve 20 or more years ago. Still, the vast majority probably wouldn’t be attracted to the proper bodybuilder, ‘roiding women 😂

  24. ItsAnArt Avatar

It’s hot.. empowering, and I hope that gym culture embraces those who want strength

  25. kshot Avatar

Good for long term health and longevity, it’s good, as long as she’s not taking steroids or doing weight cut for body building show.

I don’t judge tho. I don’t really care if a women do weight lifting, cardio or nothing at all. If she does, good for her.

  26. Apathicary Avatar

I guess I don’t really understand why regular people do weight training but it’s neat.

  27. ShareFlat4478 Avatar

Nothing. It’s just them taking care of their long term health. It doesn’t really matter.

  28. TheAgeOfQuarrel802 Avatar

As a powerlifter, I love it. I also love seeing weak guys squirm and get defensive when the weights get bigger than they can handle.

  29. AddictedToMosh161 Avatar

That they better put the plates back in a proper order. But I think that off everyone at the gym.

  30. Sev80per Avatar

nothing specific. Like most hobbys, a passion is ok, a full lifestyle could be concerning.

  31. LCxxxPT Avatar

That they are fit and Many super hot that make me have Will to go to The Gym

  32. t0p_n0tch Avatar

Fitness is always good. The juiced out powerlifter girls are too masculine though

  33. Strongdog_79 Avatar

Cardio (running & walking) plus weight training are excellent for longevity and overall health… all for it…

  34. CringeDaddy-69 Avatar

    As a powerlifter, hot

  35. ThucydidesofHellas Avatar

Attractive, but probably incompatible from her end so not worth talking to romantically.

Edit: Might ask for exercise advice though.

  36. TFOLLT Avatar

Nice. Even hot sometimes. And inspiring too. Summarized: awesome.

  37. JudgementalChair Avatar

    More power to them.

  38. commit-to-the-bit Avatar

Some of the physically most attractive women I’ve ever seen have muscular, athletic builds

  39. ThicccBoiiiG Avatar

I think you’d have to be either incredibly insecure or have an extremely misinformed understanding of what weight training realistically does to a Women to have a problem with it.

  40. MyzMyz1995 Avatar

Most physically attractive body type for a woman in my opinion. However I’m a gym guy myself and do boxing so that might influence my perspective.

  41. Dfiggsmeister Avatar

The spirit is willing but the flesh is spongy and bruised.

  42. ThunderStroke90 Avatar

“What do men think of women do X”

As a representative of the male hivemind, I can confirm we all agree on the same unanimous opinion

  43. CalmPanic402 Avatar

    I love a capable woman

  44. Responsible_Oil_5811 Avatar

If they find that a kind of exercise that they enjoy and to which they can stick, I think that’s great. I can’t say I find a great deal of musculature attractive on a woman, but unless a woman is attracted to me it shouldn’t matter to her what I find attractive.

  45. bluerog Avatar

I like a softer version of a woman. And I don’t find stomach muscles on a woman attractive at all. I like hips.

But just like a guy who works out, healthy is attractive — to me. Guy who puts on 60 pounds of muscle are similarly unattractive to me. (if I was into guys… Not that there’s anything wrong with that).

  46. Fernando3161 Avatar

They can do as they please.

  47. Ok-Analysis5882 Avatar

As women age, deadlifting becomes a powerhouse move for keeping bones strong and resilient. Post-menopause, estrogen plummets, accelerating bone loss and raising osteoporosis risk—fractures hit over 50% of women over 50. Deadlifts counter this by loading the spine, hips, and femurs, triggering bone-building osteoblasts and boosting bone density (studies show 1-3% gains in older women). The heavy lift also spikes growth hormone, which supports bone health, while stronger muscles improve balance to prevent falls, a major fracture cause. It’s functional, mimicking everyday lifts, so you stay independent longer. Start with light weights, prioritize form (maybe with a coach), and pair with calcium/vitamin D for max impact. It’s not just a lift—it’s aging armor! 💪
Disclaimer: Not medical advice; consult a doctor before starting.

In summary fewer broken bones, more free time for men

  48. BaldyBaldyBouncer Avatar

Women and men completely underestimate the amount of work it takes to get “big” someone who goes to the gym twice a week and does a few kettlebell exercises isn’t going to suddenly start looking like an East German shot putter. Only good things can come from increasing your strength. Health wise and aesthetically.

  49. Peepmus Avatar

I think it’s great, but then I also lift.

  50. freezeemup Avatar

    I think it’s great

  51. harm_and_amor Avatar

I like when she intermixes light weights into her routine.  I don’t like when it’s to the extent that she has a dating profile that says “…oh yeah… and I LIFT.”

The girl who is somewhere in between is awesome for being healthy, but there’s a chance that I won’t be as attracted to her physically.  I have a smaller build so I prefer thin and petite women.

  52. snakes-can Avatar

99% of time Think it is great.

You want to look good in clothes, diet.
You want to look good naked, lift.

I personally don’t find the bodybuilding type more vascular than me overly sexy.
I respect it and am impressed. But not a turn on. But 99% of women that lift, yes please.

  53. Own-Caregiver-8117 Avatar

Great, as long as they don’t get all bulky and end up looking like a man

  54. ornitorrinco22 Avatar

I don’t care. I don’t think women with large muscular arms or chest look good, though. Not a very feminine look. But that’s just me.

  55. malarkey_maestro Avatar

They should be commended! It takes a lot of discipline to maintain a resistance training routine; and in the long run it will pay dividends to their overall health, especially bone health, later in life.

  56. calgarywalker Avatar

Depends. I go to the gym regularly and see all kinds of people there. Here’s my opinion on women who lift:

    1. first, I think EVERYONE should lift.

2). The vast majority of women I see in the gym don’t lift heavy enough to actually do anything.

    1. There are a couple of women who have ‘gone off the deep end’ and have pushed their body to 2% body fat and have gotten boob jobs – because they literally worked their own boobs to nothing – and have stupid lip injections. These are the people that that regular women look at and are afraid they will become if they lift weights. These are the women that stop others from becoming the most beautiful version of themselves.

4). I do see a few that come regularly, lift heavy enough to make a difference and do it not forshow but to make their lives outside the gym easier, more adventurous, and better. These are the most desirable women. The sexiest.

  57. SecretaryBubbly9411 Avatar

Chest presses make the tits perkier and squats make the ass and thighs thick, but don’t lift weights.

  58. ma5ochrist Avatar

Great, good for her mood, and may be able to carry me if I’m drunk, a win win situation

  59. Manners2210 Avatar

Nothing really…good for her I guess. By itself it won’t make me more attracted to her, but if I’m not attracted to her others probably will be.

  60. ZaneBradleyX Avatar

I think it’s a good thing. Great hobby and healthy lifestyle, as long as it’s not her whole personality.

  61. Rare_Cryptographer89 Avatar

I think all women should lift. I personally don’t want a gal who is a full blown gym rat and is lifting to compete in shows lol but being in good physical shape and having good muscle and bone health is a plus for her health in the long run so yeah I’m game for a woman who will have a better chance at being in good health for years to come. Plus we both should be working on ourselves and taking care of ourselves.

  62. Playful_Quality4679 Avatar

    All women should lift.

  63. 12altoids34 Avatar

U/Thunderstroke90 is the designated speaker for men he can give you the official answer. I can only speak on behalf of myself. I think it shows that they have an interest in improving themselves and the dedication to put in the work to get there. That is what I think of them.

  64. _raydeStar Avatar

I lift. So I think women with muscle are great!

But if you’re doing it just for validation of men – it’s not a good road to go down. Do it for yourself, and for Papa Swoll, who art in heaven.

  65. Quixlequaxle Avatar

I’m all for it. I like the fit aesthetic on a woman, even with muscle. Just not steroid body builder muscle that you’d see in some magazines.

  66. sexisdivine Avatar

Hot! Also good for them for taking care of themselves.
