Moroccan tagine, fresh flatbread and couscous, gin and tonic, or Ethiopian doro wat, some lentils, fresh cheese and injera, and honey wine, or vindaloo, naan, basmati rice and a mango lassi. Sometimes I want mint tea, lamb shank, hummus.
Kraft Mac and cheese. And for a snack I always need some chips and onion dip but then a piece of chocolate after. I need the sweet and the salt. But the Mac and cheese literally takes all the bad away.
Homemade Mac and cheese with mushroom and onion gravy. I discovered it when my Salisbury steak gravy got on my Mac and cheese. It sounds weird, but is divine.
Definitely something warm and carby like mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, or a big bowl of pasta. Sometimes it’s just chocolate and tea under a blanket. Comfort over everything when I’m crampy and moody!

Hot chocolate with mini marshmallows and a slice of warm banana bread. Started doing this when I was 15 and living with my grandma now it’s my monthly comfort ritual.
This might sound weird but spicy ramen with a soft boiled egg and extra chili oil. The heat helps with the cramps and something about the warmth just hits different during that time of the month.
Hot chocolate with those tiny marshmallows but I add a sprinkle of cinnamon and make it with milk instead of water. Started doing this during college when my cramps were brutal and now it’s my go to comfort drink.
I love chocolate fudge brownies made with salted butter. They tick nearly all the boxes for period cravings. Chocolate, sweet, rich in taste, fatty and salty from the butter.
