One of my mom’s brothers was a real jerk. When my sister and I were kids and he came over to visit, he would regularly grab our feet and forcibly crack our toes no matter how loudly we screamed/protested/fought. He always acted like it was no big deal to have his child nieces screaming their guts out on the floor because he was hurting them.
For what it’s worth, we were the absolutely darlings of the family for a long time, because we were the only granddaughters in over a decade and we’d come from our grandparents’ only daughter. People didn’t fucking treat us like that.
The dude was shitty for a lot of other reasons, but I think that was the first major sign that he was no good.
Stepmom’s cousin’s son. I’m 40 now but I’ll never forget how much he seemed to enjoy doing things to try and make me feel uncomfortable, and how fucking weird that was for a 30something year old man to do to a 13 year old.
I’m so glad I had my sister because she saw it immediately. She turned his attention away from me by using her natural ability to piss people off. I didn’t realize it then but I think she did that for me a lot. Her abrasiveness was an armor that she used to shield both of us sometimes.
It could be her “holier than thou” personality that is ever present on my mother’s side of the family that makes me feel uncomfortable. She bullied my mom, her younger sister, a lot. It makes me wonder what my cousins dealt with growing up. Especially after she divorced her husband due to his infidelity, rumors went around that he touched my cousins (his stepdaughters) back in the day.
Cheated on my grandmother while she was pregnant. Immediately remarried after she died. My mother was two-month-old at the time and was then raised by Grandmother’s relatives.
Anyways, my sister resembled my grandmother a lot, it’s uncanny. We rarely met him but he would always told my sis to come sit next to him. He would stroke her arm in this kind of weird way.
He also requested to be buried with my grandmother as if his new wife would fucking let him. lmao.
I have a cousin who was literally caught raping an unconscious drunk woman. It was in the local paper and everything. The other people at the party dragged him off her and held him down until police arrived. The charges were dropped because the judge decided that her being drunk meant the rape was her fault and let him go. Some of our relatives act like because he wasn’t convicted he is innocent. I see him as a rapist who got away with it.
i had a family member, like a distant uncle or something, kiss up my arm when i was 7 and tell me he loved me despite just having met him while my sister watched. i thought it was weird and creepy but my sister told me it wasn’t and he just liked me a lot (in her defense she was like 10 and maybe tried to protect me from feeling trauma from it). but in retrospect man i was right to feel that way. i haven’t seen him since but urgh. gross. god only knows what would’ve happened if my sister hadn’t been there.
The chain smoking greaseball my aunt married. He always looked like a greaseball and aging did not help. He would touch the women (and girl children) in the family inappropriately and everyone would just rug sweep.
My cousin. He used to try giving me massages and wanted to marry me as a teenager and said it was fine because I’m adopted… it was not fine. He continually acts creepy/weird and gives an “off” vibe every time I see him at a family event… and a memory popped up recently where I remember him telling his brother when we were kids that he had felt up one of his cousins from another country. I can’t remember if it was underneath the shirt or not but it’s still so fucking gross/wrong.
Not my relative. But my brother’s baby momma…her father was OBSESSED with her. And I noticed him on more than one occasion…cough, cough…”admiring her figure” when she wasn’t looking. It was skeevy.

I won’t say who but there are 3 that are nothing like who they say they are. I’ve learned so much about their true personalities over the past year that “creep” and disgusted are definitely accurate!
