School was mind numbingly boring enough as it is but I always appreciated there being a class clown to help make things more entertaining.
One classmate had a fancy wrist watch with a universal TV remote built in. He figured out a code to the classroom TV and would randomly turn the volume up to max level during an educational video. The teacher was hilariously pissed off and it made the period go by so much faster. Those were the days.
While I understand the other students are focused on learning, class clowns better prepare us for society and knowing that adult life won’t always be straight forward without distractions.

At my 15 year class reunion, first one I had attended, my old high school principal, who was invited, took one look at me and exclaimed, “I remember you!”
Hes not a clown, he is making a working class person (the teacher) a clown, by using a money-related privilege (a tech watch) to make her job a joke.
Seems like a spoiled brat to me.
The class clown is usually the kid that will later be diagnosed with ADHD, anxiety and depression.
Sounds like the issue’s more top down than anything, don’t think the teacher should catch a stray for that :/
this definitely depends on the clown
