Hey guys, I’m 27 and recently got out of a long-term relationship 2.5 years my longest one yet. I’ve been focusing on myself and I feel ready to start meeting women again, mostly in person rather than through apps.
I’m in good shape, work in the oilfield, and I’d say I’m a decent-looking guy, but I’ve always been a bit shy when it comes to approaching women especially at the gym, where it can be tricky.
I tried talking to one girl at the gym recently. I told her I liked her tattoos and we chatted a bit about training and what we do for work. It felt okay at the time, but looking back, I worry I came across as awkward or like I was checking her out too much. I didn’t ask for her number because I froze up and didn’t really know how to transition the convo.
So, my question is: How do you start a conversation with a girl at the gym (or in public in general) without making her uncomfortable? How can you show interest in a respectful, flirty way and maybe close it out by asking for her number without it being weird?
Any advice or personal stories would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!
