What’s something you just know you’re gonna regret one day even if you don’t already?

r/

Sometimes I catch myself doing (or not doing) things and there’s this voice in the back of my head telling me that I will regret this one day. Whether it’s not going out and making more memories, or saying I’ll do something tomorrow, like I KNOW I might regret it one day but still do it anyway.

What’s something in your life right now or past stuff that you will regret at old age?

    Smoking. Wish I’d never started.

Letting time slip by thinking “someday” is an actual day I’ll get to.

Probably not saving any money, especially if there isn’t some kind of magical economic boom in the next 20-30 years.

all of this. I feel like I’m going to regret every single breath I take sometimes.

I’ve been pushed into this corner in my life where I really don’t know how to be a human anymore. I don’t understand how people work, but when I was growing up my whole life was you need to learn how to take care of your sick mother. Now that I’m 22 and she’s basically killing herself, I’m expected to just be the main character in my life. Sorry, I had that overwritten years ago. And now everything I do feels the same because it’s for me.

Smoking cigarettes feels the same as doing laundry and the same as having sex and the same as crying myself to sleep and the same as working as much as possible to distract myself.

Not starting drawing and skateboarding in my early 20s “because it was too late”. Im in my early 30s now and thinking that rn I could have over 10 years of practice had I started back then.
