I got the flu in early February, eated less and lost about 10 pounds, but why do I still have a fat gut?

Visceral fat is much more challenging to lose. The fat is wrapped around your organs.

Losing some weight doesn’t mean you are now lean.
For example if you go from 100kg to 90kg, you’re still going to be fat. (For an average height man that is untrained or didn’t train for years while eating right)

On the other hand if you are average height and went from 60kg to 55kg for example, you might just be skinny fat which is caused by lack of muscle mass

What are your stats height and weight wise?

How old are you and do you drink?

After 35, good luck losing it. Not impossible but more difficult. Especially if you drink.
