I have diagnosed Pyromania. AMA.

For those wondering, pyromania is like every other ‘manic’ condition, but with fire. I’m a lawyer with a comfortable job and finally decided it was time to try and be more open with this part of my life.

How often does pyromania interfere with your life?

If you could light one singular thing on fire, and never be able to light something else… what would it be?

You should hire me because I’m a fire paralegal.

Would being a firefighter help or hinder your pyromania?

Wait a second. Wait a second. wait a fuckin second. That might actually explain a LOT for me. It also just made me think of why it may be difficult for me to quit smoking. Maybe I could just try lighting candles whenever I want a cigarette. Because the lighting it is definitely part of the ritual for me. I have lighters friggin everywhere. Luckily, though, I have a fireplace, a fire pit, a gas stove, and a grill. But I definitely, usually at least daily, wonder what bigger things would look like burning. I haven’t really thought of a question yet, just had a mind blowing minute there. Uh, what’s your favorite thing to burn? Like, what kind of material?

What was your childhood like, were you ever in legal trouble, and how did you come to be diagnosed?

Have you ever gotten burned or ended up lighting something on fire that you shouldn’t have?

Are you also a bed-wetter who enjoys harming animals?
