What’s your opinion on people watching videos and having their volume up in public?

r/

I spent time with my family the last few days and my brother, his kids, and my parents, were all on their phones while we were hanging out with the volume full blast! It was obnoxious!! Today, my wife and I went to a restaurant and sat in the bar area, this couple at a table, same thing! Volume super loud, not even paying attention to each other. Am I a grumpy old man? Is it OK and I just need to get over it? Why is it not allowed on an airplane but is everywhere else?

It’s inconsiderate and annoying as hell

Same as my opinion on racists driving around blasting obnoxious announcements from loudspeakers mounted on top and politicians going around neighbourhoos  in trucks screeching at people through megaphones.

    They should be in prison.

Super frowned upon unless you’re sure no one is around to hear.

I was at a medical appointment the other day and a dude was sitting in the waiting room watching his phone, and at full volume the sentence, “LITTLE WEINERS DESERVE LOVE TOO!” blared throughout the waiting room.

And then the guy replayed said video 4 more times…. Which means I heard the phrase, “LITTLE WEINERS DESERVE LOVE TOO!” five times that day (which is infinitely more times than I’ve ever heard said phrase previously).

I don’t care, unless they are in a library. I usually mind my own business.

Yep, pretty much that. People who do it on trains should be thrown off at the next stop.

Had a friend that would just scroll facebook sometimes when we were hanging out. She’d say all her bits and pieces but when I started talking: straight onto facebook. When I pointed it out she’d say “No, I’m still listening, I can multitask.”

So I started talking about the Sky Lemons and how they were giving the people of Latvia lemon face and that the only solution was to launch soda streams at them. She didn’t bat an eyelid. Possibly the same night, I went on facebook on PC and posted on her wall asking if she wanted to get pizza, whilst she’s sitting just behind me. We ended up cussing the hell out of each other on her wall whilst laughing so alls well that ends well.

It’s just rude and lacking in thought.

In public use headphones or low volume.

    Did you mention it?

    It’s annoying.

They’re so goddamn broke with the latest android or iPhone that they can’t afford gas station ear bulbs or headphones.

The power move: sit next to them if you can and at FULL BLAST play Baby Shark.

They’ll get the hint after that.

I was sitting in the dentist office and this one old dude was watching TikTok brain rot at full volume. What made it worse was that his targeted ads clearly know he’s an older man: boner pills. Every ad was boner pills. Full volume.

I hate it. I have my own noise cancelling headphones for these situations. I literally can’t enjoy the break room at work without them because it’s just constant speaker phone conversations, instagram reels, and YouTube videos. It’s awful.

I’ve gotten in arguments with people over it. It’s fucking rude. How inconsiderate can you be?
