So last night I was hanging out with my friends (we’re all 21), and I decided to bring out the 151-proof Everclear I had gotten the night before. My friends each took maybe 1–2 shots max… but apparently I had other plans.
Let me preface this by saying I don’t normally drink — I actually hate the taste. Before this, I considered myself a lightweight since just one 13.9% Four Loko usually gets me pretty happy-drunk.
Throughout the night, I ended up taking:
* 5 shots of 151-proof Everclear
* 4 shots of 21% rum
* 1 shot of some 20% cocktail mix a friend brought
After all that, I was absolutely f*ed up. I was slurring my words and having a hard time walking. At some point, I ended up stumbling into my friend’s parents’ room by accident, waking them up and setting off their dogs.
Surprisingly, I remember everything throughout the night — so I didn’t black out, which I guess is the one small win here.
The rest of the night I was pretty much out of commission. I could walk and talk and was somewhat aware of what I was doing, but the whole world was spinning.
This all happened within a span of 6 hours, so I finally decided to just go to bed.
The next morning, I had my mom come pick me up because there was no way I could drive. When I got home, I chugged a bunch of water… and immediately puked it back up. Then I passed out again for another 5 hours until I had to get up for work.
Surprisingly, the hangover wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. I’m mostly just nauseous with a slight headache — honestly could’ve been worse considering the amount of alcohol I had.
TL;DR: Thought I could handle Everclear. Took 10+ shots in 6 hours. Ended up drunkenly stumbling into my friend’s parents’ room, threw up water the next day, somehow survived work. Somehow, I remember everything.

Lucky you not in New Jersey. Everclear is 190 proof here.
Everclear is a brand name for a white distilled grain neutral spirit. Last I checked, which was admittedly decades ago, it was well north of 180 proof. Check that bottle my friend.
Also. Do not do shots of that. Like, ever. That’s just crazy.
I got alcohol poisoning from Everclear in high school. To this day my mom still thinks i had the flu.
…yeah, why the hell would you take 5 shots of everclear when you’re a lightweight and aren’t accustomed enough to alcohol yet?
EDIT: I was wrong, there is Everclear 151.
Either this is a lie or you weren’t drinking Everclear. EC is 190 proof. You may have actually been drinking Bacardi 151.
Both will certainly put you on your ass. Personally I’ve never had Bacardi 151, but I have shot EC. If your tolerance is low to moderate, you can get completely blitzed on 2-3 shots.

Next time use the Everclear for jungle juice not straight shots.
