I turned 30 recently, and I’ve noticed I miss a bunch of random things I never thought I’d care about. Like being able to eat junk at midnight without consequences, or just the dumb energy me and my friends used to have when we’d hang out with zero responsibilities.
Curious to hear from other guys – what’s something you didn’t expect to miss once you hit your 30s? Could be physical, social, emotional, whatever

Being a kid.
Being able function without sleep. In your twenties you can happily pull an all nighter and get through a full day the next day. Now if I get less than 7 hours sleep I truly feel like I’m dying.
I miss being active enough. Career stuff and life made my body less physically capable and this is why I am taking steps to be more physically active again. And the more active I am, the healthier I feel.
The truth is that our lives are like a trend – if you go in the down direction or on a negative life trend, it will be harder to reverse that trend in order to make it even equal if not better than when you were younger.
And yes, you can do it with enough persistence and more effort, but the main point here is – if you miss something positive in your life, ffs don’t give up on it. Every good habit is helping you to be better in the future, so minimize bad habits, maximize good habits and if you recognize that you miss something good in your life, just go for it while you can.
Congrats on 30
Oh yeah, in my 20s it was cool making only slight cuts to my diet and having a set of visible abs. Now it’s a lot of work to get it showing. Overall shape of my body was slender after lifting weights ack then, now it seems to get bulkier which i don’t like.
My hair used to grow super fast and was very thick. Now i’m getting a bald spot and it doesn’t grow anywhere near as fast.
