So when I was a kid (in the 1980’s), I was given a set of booklets that had belonged to my Dad / Uncles in the 1960’s.
These were softback, almost magazine-like, but with better quality covers. About A-4 sized.
As far as I recall, they were suppliments to a set of encyclopedias (like Children’s Britannica, etc).
One of these had a dark purple cover, and was a scripted puppet play. As far as I remember, there were 3 characters in it, one of them being a ghost (the uncle of one of the others, he was benevolent).
The booklet also gave instructions how to make eother hand-puppets or string puppets of the characters, possibly also the sets.
I’ve tried to find it online to no avail, any help greatly appreciated!

I also think there was a house that was in some way important.
