Tbh, I think where I live it’s not a thing. Never seen any underwear and swimming clothes in any second hand store here.
But say it was sold, it’s not for me. Everything like that as second hand is no longer giving support nor is sitting as it should. So no. Would I judge someone who does buy it? No, but if it’s someone I know, I probably had a talk with my partner about finances and take that person shopping for some new stuff. Nothing fancy or expensive, we don’t have that money, but at least something new.
I tend to buy second hand bikinis and swimsuits, and bras. Most things bar panties and socks really. Why? Because I like quality and cannot afford brand new, high quality clothes. I also HATE fast fashion, the only new clothes I can buy are that, even then I can’t really afford new.
I have no shame in that. Plus, some of the swimsuits from the 80s/90s are awesome.
Since I am a member of the itty bitty titty committee, I feel a bit more comfy saying yes to bralettes and other tops that can be well washed and only look gently used or unused. Otherwise, no, no go.
Most places that accept donated used clothes will not accept used underwear…i think that is pretty obviously unhygienic. I see no difference between a swimsuit and underwear in that regard.
I’ve bought “secondhand” bras that were still new with tags, just didn’t come directly from VS or whatever. I personally probably wouldn’t buy secondhand panties or bathing suits. If lingerie corset tops, robes, and nighties count as intimates then I don’t think it’s that weird to be thrifting those but I’ve never done it myself.
I’m confused why it would matter so much if its clean and you wash it again. whats the stigma or fear for? I’m not sure I own any second hand but also confused at the response for say… a cute swimsuit set from a swap
I wouldn’t unless it was brand new. Thrift stores will get new stuff from the stores with tags still on them. Personal choice. I try not to judge other people that do, as I do feel a hot water load will kill everything.
I was a single mom and thrift store bras and bathing suits were what I could afford. I just washed them with disinfecting detergent and went on my way.
I’d do it again if necessary. Sometimes it is what it is.
I’m a bit desensitized to this since my sisters and I swapped out underwear and swimsuits constantly lol. So yeah, I’ll absolutely wear secondhand intimates but I’m also basically half woman half rat and you shouldn’t take advice from me

No.
Nope. That goes for myself and my wife
Absolutely not. Same goes for bodysuits. Anything that directly touches labia is a no-go.
None of the thrift stores in my area would ever accept them to begin with.
Bras would be fine, but I personally wouldn’t buy a used bra. They stretch out over time. I want proper comfort, shape, support, etc.
Nope. Nope. NOPE.
I’ll pass but I do I understand there are people out there that don’t have a choice.
Sometimes swim tops, sometimes bras, I wash hot 2x
No thanks.

No. Nighties and slips are fine IMO though.
I prefer to buy brand new intimate wears. You’ll feel better, it fits better, and more hygienic.
I buy my bottoms retail
But buy tanking tops and bikini tops at the thrift store
I wouldn’t. Maybe a bathing suit top, but I prefer to buy new
Definitely not. Feels unhygienic
Nope!

It’s the one thing I won’t buy secondhand. Especially as a swimmer, I know where to find my swimsuits.
Nope.
That’s a no for me
Nope

Big no for me.

Pass.
I have a feeling that you cannot resell used underwear and swimsuits? I have never seen them at thrift stores.
Hard pass. I do check that section out for NWT and camis but otherwise definitely not.
