Characterization often ends at “girly girl”. Just skirts, sweets and supportiveness. I don’t think it’s extremely difficult to add something weird and fun to that framework
When expertise in highly feminine things is associated with a disregard for “important” things. It’s not just that she’s good at hair and makeup; she’s also unaware of current events and apathetic to homelessness, for example. It creates a false dilemma, implying that you can either care about your appearance or about the welfare of humanity, but not both. The only conclusion is that rejection of femininity is the only way to be a good person. So toxic.
Choosing to present yourself in highly feminine coded ways doesn’t have anything to do with your competence, kindness, empathy, intelligence, or capability. It’s stupid how often “girly girl” characters are saddled with so much casual misogyny.
That they become the Girly Girl all dresses make up popularity etc.. after they remove glasses and have a makeover that is the total opposite of their style/character before
The moment in every one of these character’s storyline where they have to go on a trip of some sort and show up hilariously overpacked as a moment to make fun of the archetype
The mean girly girl cliche is the worst because it’s one that parents unfortunately play into too much in real life. Yes, your baby girl is pretty but it’s not good to let her be “sassy” with no limits.
That being a girly girl has to be her entire personality. Girly girl or girl that loves science. Girly girl or sporty girl. Girly girl or trivia buff. It’s not an exclusive trait.
Girly girls who eat tons as a quirk. I know that crazy metabolisms and exercise exist, but 99% of the time the girls depicted don’t do sports/exercise. The overeating as quirk feels weird and contrasted with being conventionally thin gives me dis-order vibes.

When they’re made to act ditzy and stupid.
Also just when it’s completely effortless. She’s been trudging through a forest for a week and has perfect hair and make up and freshly shaved legs.

Being perfectly groomed at all times. There’s actually nothing ‘girly’ about perfection and obsession with appearances. Seriously.
Frivolousness, lack of intelligence, shallowness, judgemental attitude, classist, rude, incapable, helplessness

That they’re always the mean girls. Liking cute outfits and being put together doesn’t make someone mean!
Shallowness and ditziness being non intelligent. Especially when its use to compare her to the « not like other girls » main character!

When all they talk about is the boy they like, and they get no character development whatsoever.
That the girliest girl almost always hates and/or looks down on other women around her.
That overly feminine girls are stupid.

Being eyecandy/props for the male protagonist, and not treated as a fully autonomous human being with their own thoughts and feelings
