What mindset makes you like you and your life?

I live by this: every day is a bonus, and everything I stress about is usually not that important. Every break I get, every good meal, every pleasant interaction, and every good night’s sleep is a bonus I cherish. Every time I worry/stress about anything, I try to imagine if this is something that would stress the rest of the world (like if I missed a day of gym or worry about my hair). The answer is usually no. Then I calm down.

Its just…life, like there is no end goal that I have to achieve. I am here for the experience, the lows make the highs worth it and the highs make the lows feel small. I view life like a video game with levels, monsters to beat, hurdles to overcome. I talk to myself about strategies to overcome said hurdles. Like I talk to my inner me and say “ok how are we gonna do this” (I think this is healthy and not a mental illness LOL please no one burst my bubble). Then when I die I get to see my scores, how I did in the career/relationships/etc, and its not compared to anyone elses life experience, just my own and how much I levelled up from my own starting score. Then, maybe I get to come back and be reincarnated as something else and play the game of life again.

I’ve never said this out loud to anyone before so I hope this is more helpful than it is weird lol.

    Thise are 2 different things.
I am the unwanted child of an unwanted child of an unwanted child. I am still living in the same house with the other two generations as well. I have made the decision that me being here is not my fault so neither should it be my problem. I am here. If you have a problem with that yoz may keep it. I like myself. Yet my life… my current situation is pretty shit and anything before that wasn’t really worth the fuzz either. Ask again in a couple years I might have worked something out in the meantime

    1. “Everything works out for me because lead with good intentions. No one’s negativity is a reflection of me.” I always remember that, and it eases me instantly, not that I don’t have flaws.

    2. Seems cliché and way too simplistic the only true way you’ll get the most out of life is if you stop letting life happen to you – passively experiencing it. ACTIVE steps towards whatever you want and away from whatever doesn’t suit you, big or small steps, but don’t stagnate. You have heard this a million times and there is a reason for it, but most never listened 🥲

My two mantras are 1. I am here to Explore, Experience and Enjoy Life and 2. (You’re) Damned if you, Damned if you don’t, therefore DO what YOU Want!

There is joy in the tiniest moments – the sunny spot to drink your coffee in the morning – freshly baked bread – a smile from a little kid on the street – watching a stormy day unfold while next to the fire – whatever is happening, find joy in it. Living is beautiful.

I am so beyond blessed. I had a… turbulent… childhood into early adult hood. I never planned ahead because I didnt think I’d be alive to see it. But I’m almost 30 and so happy.

I stop and think about how blessed I am. I have an amazing fiance I can’t wait to marry in Nov, he has a wonderful family who has accepted me as their own, our dogs are healthy, I love my job, we make good money, beautiful home, with reliable cars. I dont have to stress about anything, nor do I want for anything especially having my needs met.

I often think about this when I look down at my engagement ring, and it not only gives me a full body peace but makes my heart absolutely soar.

It’s a bad day, not a bad life. Puts something I’m upset or stressed about into perspective, and I’m immediately grateful for the good things I have going on.

    Life is about creating yourself.

    The journey is the destination.

Its not my job to make others happy. I will, but because I WANT to, not because I feel like I have to.

I exist in the reality where i am my best self, things work out, i have enough, and I am safe. there may be other timelines where there are worse things that happen but in this timeline everything works out ok for me

Unfortunately, I haven’t had a lot of people show up for me in my life. From family to men to friends, etc. Some of which is my own doing from being un healthy but either way I’ve always survived. I have had to show up for me every single day and night. Even when things have been brutal, I’m still here and I’m still killing it.

Having faith and trust in yourself is beautiful. So for me, my mindset is that even if it doesn’t work out the way I want; it will always work out in some way. And whatever way that is, I got it.

Authenticity is key and “No thank you, I don’t want too.” is not only a full sentence but also fully acceptable whenever I wish and a daily practice. (n I’m starting to become pretty good at it too.. )

My dad always said, “it is what it is,” and I use that phrase often now that I’m grown. No point in getting upset about something that is out of your control. I always try to see the good in people, situations, experiences, etc. Value can be gained even from bad experiences.

I am a perpetually positive person and genuinely wish the best for everyone. My husband calls me the whistling wonderer (sopranos reference). I regularly whisper a little “thank you” to the universe whenever I recognize little moments of joy that I am thankful for.

My mindset is based on my past experiences. It is a very pessimistic one, but it’s served me better than optimism. Hope for the best, prepare – including mentally – for the worst.

I march to the beat of my own drum

  18. Excellent_Owl_8125 Avatar

I strive to do good. Both to others and myself. I treat others like I wan’t to be treated (or try to) – that means trying to be good to others without sacrificing my own mental health.

Also remembering that by that, I am also going to be good to myself:

    • I want to be forgiving both to others and to myself
    • I want to be kind to others and also to myself
    • I want to help others but also help myself
    • I want to take care if others but also take care of myself
  19. BigOakley Avatar

“I have to make others happy by being an example for them”

I have an easy life. I’m really fortunate and have never had to struggle. I does change how one lives and views the world
