My own laundry machines, no cockroaches, my own yard and garden, an area with way less traffic and people. My house is not new, just new to me.
Replaced the toilets, added blackout blinds and curtains to the windows, painted the walls to a color.
A second kitchen sink added into our island.
A pot filler for water above the stove. So we don’t need to go back and forth to add water to cooking. It’s been a godsend for our baby bottle washer.
We customized our sinks so that it’d be wider. It catches more water so we make less of a mess washing our face.
I didn’t have roommates
Lighting fixtures, bidet, fresh coat of paint, customized closet for better storage, robot vacuum and mop
Added a small sideboard in the kitchen for more counter space. More plush sofa for stretching out on. A TV stand on wheels so I can move my TV around to whatever room I’m in. Murphy bed to make more floor space. Foldable exercise equipment. Automatic litterbox and timed feeders.
Separate bathrooms for me and my husband. We have his/her sinks in one of them but I felt I liked having my things on the counter and he liked it cleaner, so separate we go! We also like that when we get home from a long day we can have our own private time in our own shower space.
Curved shower rod!
More bidets
We replaced all of the windows. The existing windows were nearly impossible to open or close. The new windows made the whole house more comfortable and much quieter.
Built in sweep vacuum in my kitchen. Love that thing with all my heart.
Gave it a complete makeover. I didn’t know I had a hidden talent for home decor till then. In addition, this was my first home. So was quite proud of it. Nowadays when I have visitors or friends over, they’re just amazed by my art and figurines around and they often end up asking for my recommendations to make their spaces even more attractive.
And I just love to come back home, kick back and relax in solitude. It’s sort of become my safe space.
Separate blankets and sheets for the bed. I sleep hot. He needs a fleece blanket even in the summer.
Heated bidet, water softener system, and 240V outlet (for car charging).
Indirect lighting, sealed windows, heated floors, dishwasher, bidet, air filters and warm lighting :3
A robot vacuum cleaner, especially one that also washes floors, then there will be less cleaning work at home and it will be more comfortable
Since moving in we’ve added a backup power system (our government sucks with keeping the lights on) and AC. GAME CHANGERS!
Crimsafe screen doors front and back to allow for through draft, mossie netting on windows. Insulation. Blackout blinds and gauze curtains to cut out glare. Reverse cycle air conditioning including ‘dry’ option to keep house mould free in humid weather. Ahhhh.
Japanese toilet 🫶
I love to cook so upgraded from the shitty hotplate stove to induction! And curtains.
Ice maker
Hired a house cleaner.
Timers to turn on and off lights in the bedroom and living room. When the lights are off in the living room, the lights in the bedroom automatically turned on. Also sensor lights in the kitchen and the walkway to the garbage bins.
