Just looking for your tips and tricks. I’m in a pattern where no one does anything for weeks except the daily dishes/laundry/must dos to get through the week and then I lose my mind and stress clean for two days because everything is covered in dust and grime.
Any advice for making it more of an ongoing thing? I just feel that I’m the only one in my family who gives a crap whether the house looks good or not.
How is everyone staying on top of household cleaning?

I do everything on Sunday
Split chores into daily 10-minute tasks, share them with your family, and keep a checklist. This way, everyone helps and the mess won’t build up.
A bit everyday (dishes, cleaning the kitchen counters etc) and the bigger ones (mopping the entire flat etc) on the weekends

That ^ is the problem.
Have you had a conversation with your husband and children about your concerns? If so, what has been their response?
In my experience over many decades, I have discovered that there must be both firm expectations and shared accountability when people live in a common space.
If there is no such accountability, then the person — in this case, you — who cares is going to experience stress, anxiety, and possibly other mental health issues (all of which fall under the category of “losing one’s mind”).
i learned this thing recently… if it takes10 mins do it now rule… this has helped me alot.. instead of keeping all the chores for weekend i now try and do it in small chunks.. cleaning dust from few furniture items.. keeping the clothes in wardrobe.. setting up my work table..
Make a list. Have everyone do specific chores every day/week. They have to check off that is done.
We don’t.
And we are 5 to do it.
I do 1-2 chores a day so they don’t pile up. We do have someone come in once a month for the dusting and wiping everything down because I just don’t have the physical capacity to do that.
One room at a time but not all at the same time lol. There is always something to do 😂😩.
I do 15 minutes a day on a timer. It never builds up. Sometimes I don’t have to spend all 15. But it’s a small home; it wouldn’t be like that for everyone.
I rotate around the house and focus on a different room at a time, rather than all at once. Too stressful.
I’m relatively neat as I live alone, but am also not a clean freak. I just have a way of not making a mess if that makes sense.
Even when I rent Airbnb’s, they usually comment how clean I am and I’m like whaaat? Really? What do other people do?
