I have a friendly coworker (38M) that’s nice to everyone (and married). We’ve worked together for 2 years. He and I were chatting and he wanted to show me a funny video and said, “I’d text you the link but I don’t have your number”. I ended up giving him my phone and he looked up the video so we could watch it. Our chats have never been flirty, so I don’t think he was trying to get my number in a romantic kind of way, but maybe more of a social/friendly kind of way? He’s someone I would hang out with outside of work (as a friend), so I’m wondering if this was maybe his attempt to have a (friendly) relationship outside of work?

You’ve got more faith in mankind than I do.
Seems like he just wanted to share something with you. I’ve done that with coworkers, even women, and never contacted them outside of work or for any reason other than work.
I’d honestly be more worried about letting a stranger have access to my browser than giving them my number really quickly.
But yeah he was definitely trying to get your number so that he could at least send that link.
