What is the best way to minimize all odor from your private area?

r/

20 yr old female here! I’m wondering what is the best way to keep get rid of any malodor from that area? Is it perhaps the pubes that cause this odor? Underwear, clothes, or sweat perhaps? Thank you!

Go see a doctor. It may be a symptom of something a shower won’t fix.

All about what you’re eating a drinking and some girlies are sensitive down there from different types of panties. Mostly cotton helps with issues.

I’m gonna say shower, see a doctor, and see a nutritionist. There may be something about your diet that influences the smell that you produce. I’m guessing that if pineapple makes cum taste different, diet can make a vagina smell different. I honestly don’t know that, though (I’m not a nutritionist). I’d say it’s worth looking into.

A little natural scent is normal. If it feels off, wear breathable cotton underwear, wash gently with warm water (no soap), and shower after sweating. Trimming can help with sweat, but that’s personal. Staying hydrated and changing out of tight clothes quickly helps too. If the smell seems unusual, a quick check with a doctor won’t hurt.

See, there are two ways to look at this. If the smell is really bad it might be a fungal or bacterial infection and you should get it checked. In most cases it is just sweat, moisture, or tight clothes and regular washing with warm water and wearing breathable underwear usually helps.

Shave down there, and drink as much as water as you can ( underated but imp) as it will clean your private part internally, no harsh soap or v wash wear breathable panties

It has a lot to do with what you eat; make sure you’re eating something probiotic EVERY DAY. Sweat can contribute as well so a pantyliner down there to absorb moisture, and ensure you stay hydrated. If you do all of that and you still have a weird odor, it’s worth getting checked out for a possible infection.

proper hygeine, like showers.  Rubbing alcohol wipes can help during the day.

Stick to breathable cotton undies, wash gently with warm water, and trim if you like for less strong odor that holds from the hair in that area

Take a bath once a week with apple cider vinegar, that may help. Your balance is off, you may want to check with your OBGYN.

Hand sanitizer. Just don’t get it inside.

Its normal to have some odor. We’re human, not made of plastic. But I shouldnt be able to smell you. So a little smell = normal. Big smell, not so normal. Having said that regular cleaning in the shower is usually enough. If you want to invest some money in it get a bidet and you’ll feel fresher, longer. Our vaginas are self cleaning so no need for special cleaners – in fact, special cleansers can disrupt your biome so don’t do that.

Washing well regularly. Also, wear only lopse cotton breathable undies and clothing. Skip the tight nylon yoga pants, etc that harbor bacteria.

    • check for anything medical; sugar levels, yeast infection, hormones
    • cotton underwear
    • sleep with no underwear
    • blow dry your area after a shower
    • trim the pubes
    • use ph balance wipes
    • don’t use scented soaps; a bar tea tree oil soap is great instead
    • wear panty-liners and change every few hours, or change your underwear multiple times a day
    • Additionally, pay closer attention to your menstrual cycle so you know what smells are normal during which stages of your cycle.

Regular showering is the foundation of it all. But please don’t put any cleaning agent inside you that claims the clean/cleanse the vagina.
Stuff like that really throws of the natural environment of your vagina and that may pave the path for bacterial or fungal overgrowth/infections that then comes with bad odor as well.

Pubes per se don’t cause odor, but they could possibly contain/keep stuff that does, like sweat. But, again, normal, regular showers are all that’s needed for sweat.
Trimming your pubes may make that less pronounced.

If it’s a strong or persisting odor, you should see a doctor about that in case it is a fungal infection, for example. They can then tell you how to deal with that properly.

In terms of clothes, I guess just something non-irritating, breathable would be best and might help manage to some extent.

I have no idea if this applies to your private parts as well, but I smell distinctively less from my arm pits when I have shaved them. No idea why, I don’t change how or how often I wash so the only variable is the hair in my case. Might be worth a try if you’re okay with it.
