About 6 days ago my good friend (we will call him Tyler.) got into a car accident due to someone having road rage. He did what he could to try to avoid the situation but was still found at fault.
Both cars were exiting off the freeway, then the other party in a truck suddenly ran Tyler off the road, even more so the truck drug his car along the metal road barrier. Both cars totaled. At least one person in Taylor’s car was sent to the hospital via ambulance for a small laceration to the face as well as a concussion.
There’s definitely a lot more to the story about what and how it happened but that’s kind of irrelevant now.
Tyler was found at fault. No Citations issued.
Tyler only had Liability insurance. He thinks he got away with it, but I’m worried that he will have to pay the medical bills for the person in his car.
He doesn’t really have people for legal help and I’m not really knowledgeable about how these accidents work without full coverage. I’m assuming he will be stuck paying some part of those medical bills/ambulance ride. As even if you have full coverage you still have to pay out of pocket usually.
Any advice or experience helps.

Found at fault by police or his insurer?
>Tyler was found at fault
Who do you think made that determination ? Was it part of a police report ?
>Tyler only had liability insurance
Tyler needs to report the collision to his insurer, who will pay for the damage done to the other vehicle or the injuries to its occupants, or to injuries to his passengers.
If Tyler wants to recover the value of his car, he’s going to have to make a claim with the other driver’s insurer, or sue the other driver. Whatever report or assessment determined that Tyler was at fault for the collision will be important, but not the final word.
