On May 4 this year I ordered a PS5 bundle through Walmart. It was delivered the next day from a store around 30 mins from me… except it wasn’t a PS5, it was “premium absorbant XL underpads.” I took the incorrect item to the location it came from the day of the incident and was turned away by customer service as well as the manager without them even looking into the situation. I was told to call 1-800-WALMART. I did and they sent me a barcode to return in store. I then went to my local Walmart, where I was also turned away by the manager saying they could not help me in store and that once again I had to call 1-800-WALMART. She suggested it may have been the delivery driver. So I filled a police report. On May 14 the officer determined that the PS5 was actually in the electronics department of the store it had came from (the one that turned me away on the day of the incident). Is it crazy that even after a police report proving I never got the item that I still haven’t gotten a refund? I have since opened a case with Paypal but really what I want to ask is, is there anything I can do if they sold that same PS5 given that it is technically mine since I was never refunded, especially since the higher ups at the store were/are aware it was mine?
It just sort of blows my mind that the mistake was acknowledged yet never rectified

Always buy expensive items on a credit card is the valuable lesson. File a claim in small claims now that’ll get Walmarts attention. You can also list the store management in the claim individually so you’ll have more points of contesting.
You’re entitled to a full refund or the merchandise you paid for, merchant’s choice. You’ve paid via PayPal, which complicates things, but you’ve already opened a case with PayPal it sounds like. Provide them with the police report if you haven’t already, this should be pretty cut and dried.
have you done a Bbb complaint?
I bought and empty AirPods box last year from WalMart. The associate took them out of the case and up to the front register. I paid for them without ever touching the box. The cashier put them in a bag and I left. Turned out the box was empty.
I called the store and they said to call the corporate office. The corporate office said I needed to contact the store. Despite months of calling, emailing, and leaving messages I still never got a refund. I was even able to prove I got a box that had been opened because there was an extra seal on the box, in addition to the Apple seals, that would have been visible on the checkout cameras. I wrote a letter to the store manager and included pictures of the box and seal but I still never heard anything back and never got a refund.
My credit card company wouldn’t help me because they said it was an authorized purchase.
The AirPods were supposed to be my daughters bday gift. She was disappointed to say the least. Im still in disbelief about the whole thing. I never thought WalMart would do something like this and not make it right. Buyer beware!
