AITA? Called out 2 guys in grocery

r/

So – I’m in the grocery store. 3 teenage girls wander by, having a nice time, wearing pretty normal summer clothes. (I am middle aged woman) Two older men start dissing the girls (to each other, loudly) making comments about their clothes and why do they think we need to see certain parts. I turn and say, calmly, Bit judgy? They came at me pretty hard. Then waited for me at the checkout to come and stand by my self- checkout just to glare at me.

    NTA More creepy, shitty men.

NTA, more people need to be called out when they’re making inappropriate comments like that. They should keep their opinions to themselves. It’s not their life, so they don’t get a say in what the girls wear or do. Nobody has to like everything others are doing, but that doesn’t give anyone a right to be an ass about it.

NTA. They should mind their own business, I’m so tired of men thinking they have a right to judge how women dress. The fact that they waited for you, instead of reflecting on themselves, shows they needed to be checked.

You know what you do? You stay where you are, pull out your phone, and call 911. Then explain there are two men following you and menacing you, and you feel you need an escort to your car. Make sure to speak loudly enough for them to hear.

You’re a good person, not many women would stand for other women due to fear of retaliation, NTA. Those guys are fucking creepy

NTA. They were being inappropriate and disrespectful. You called them out, and they didn’t like it. Too bad for them.

When you tell the police these men are harassing you, make sure you also tell the police they are following teenage girls around commenting on the clothes they are wearing. Whether that means said girls should be wearing more or less in their opinions matters not one iota to me! They are STILL in 2025 going around making themselves the moral police of what women/ girls are allowed to put on our not put on their bodies. How about men (& some judgmental women) try using the brains in their heads to solve some actual problems instead- like hunger, homelessness, children who need parents, the state of distrust & hate between political parties in this country- just to name a few. Makes someone’s amount of clothing seem like a lot less important issue, now doesn’t it?

    Mother fuckers.

NTA. Good on you for calling them out. The only other thing I might have done is tell a team member so they can save any camera footage in case a report is needed. CYA and all that.

You inserted yourself into the situation. You expressed your displeasure, they expressed theirs.

The problem is the christian prudes who think the human body is a sin. The body that they claim was made in the image of their god. The temple, if you will. Seriously? If your god is good, why are you so ashamed of your skin? And I’m not buying the whole Eve tempting Adam with an Apple. That’s also just an excuse for creepy old men to own women like property.

NTA, & good for you for speaking up. More people need to call these incels out.

As a teenager (15 maybe) I was with my best friend and her mom grocery shopping. These grown men kept staring at me and my friend (we definitely looked 15) and making comments. Her mom, yelling loudly, said “fucking jailbait! Get the fuck away from my girls!!” And honestly, that is the woman I want to be. NTA, you’re a good woman.

    What “normal summer clothes?”

I’m sure those girls weren’t wearing those “normal summer clothes” hoping for attention from men? Nah, that couldn’t be true.

Should have said “well certainly no one wants to see your body.” Probably would have shut them up PDQ.

The op is hypocritical as she calls the men judgemental and, in doing so, is judgemental herself. The irony.

Let me guess – then everyone clapped with your ChatGPT garbage.

I wonder why some people post this stuff. “AITAH for telling people off for being mean to children????”

Like, lady, what do you think? Do you think the entire world thinks you are wrong for this made up scenario?
