My (25F) ex’s (25M) friend was in an argument (drunk apparently) with him once and apparently said he (the friend) could pull someone so much better than me (said about himself). I don’t know what exactly my ex said, but I would have loved for him to have defended me more and gotten more mad at the friend I guess. I would never tell my partner they should stop being friends with someone, but I guess it hurt that he continued on more or less the same with him afterwards. If it was me, I couldn’t look at the friend the same way after saying something so rude about the person I love.
Same friend also made a joke in the past about my ex upgrading from me, which he knows I know and swore it was a joke. I never liked him that much because he very much subscribed to ‘toxic’ masculinity and had extreme perceptions about how to attract girls.

Why do you care about something that happened with a friend of your ex
Why do you care about your ex like this? Just keep it moving.
Look at the source of the comments (drunk people) and give them the attention they deserve (none).
One, like others said, stop overthinking your ex and their friends. Two, yeah I do think it’s a dick move to tell your friend that you could do better than their partner. But we’ve all said unnecessary shit when we were drunk, so again it circles back to: who cares?
