Location: Michigan.
I’ve worked for the same company in Michigan for the last 25+ years, and my work day has always been 8 hours. I work in health care and average 43-45 hours a week. Recently, my manager changed my workday to 8.8 hours to avoid paying me overtime. Because of poor budgeting, some of her departments are in the red. Is this legal?

Unless you’re exempt or some sort of union cba, you are owed OT for any hours worked over 40 in a given work week.
