My (27m) girlfriend (25f) doesn’t indulge in intimate conversations

r/

I have been dating this girl for the past 4 months and it’s been great. At first, we both stated that we would go the religious route and not have sex till after marriage.

However, I assumed that having some intimate conversations would be crucial to help assess sexual compatibility before marriage. Turns out that she also doesn’t want to indulge in these conversations. I respected that but I have decided that it is just not for me. She’s wonderful, but this just doesn’t differ from having a female friend.

She’s a wonderful person and I don’t want to hurt her, what is the best way to breakup with her in the most amicable way?

I’d personally just tell her that you are looking for a long term relationship, and sexual compatibility is very important to you in a relationship. That she seems uncomfortable talking about it with you (which is fine!) and that you really do like her, but you want to find somebody more compatible with you and willing to talk about those subjects before marriage.

Seeing as you’ve made your mind up with actually breaking up with her ( respect that btw ), the only person who really knows the best way to end things is you ! Just start by being honest, there’s no way you can 100% be sure that you won’t make her upset, in fact, it’s pretty much guaranteed to happen because most breakups hurt no matter the reasoning. Just be cordial, mature and stick to your guns. Good luck ! 👌

P.s. try to word it in a way where she won’t think you’re breaking up with her because she’s not putting out, make sure you specify that it’s because of the lack of intimate conversations NOT the lack of intimacy !
