Faulty Anti-Theft GPS installed by motorcycle dealer (Florida)

r/

Hello all,

I have just had my motorcycle stolen out of my apartment parking garage. I just bought it a few months back, so I still have quite a bit owed on it.

When I bought it from the dealer, I opted in for the anti-theft GPS. At the time, I was actually buying 2 bikes (that look almost identical, for my girlfriend and I) and towards the end of the day of purchase they clearly rushed to get the GPS installed. Turns out they swapped the GPS for the bikes, and somehow put 2 on mine, neither of which ever worked for us. I mention this because it ended up being the GPS’s that drained my battery. I’ve had to replace the battery 3 times in the past few months. Now with the battery drained, there’s no way of pinging the actual GPS, even if it decided to somehow work. I’ve contacted the salesman multiple times about getting it fixed and still have all of the texts.

I make a deal about this GPS because it’s really the only leg I have to stand on. I didn’t get insurance for it (yes, dumb, please spare me) because the price of insurance for this bike was more than I was paying for the thing.

Given the regrettable decision to not buy insurance for it, please just let me know if I have anything worth filing a complaint about with this whole GPS situation. If I don’t, I don’t and I will just have to take it in the chin and deal with the consequences. But anything would help as of right now.

Thanks everyone.

Location: Florida

EDIT: insurance was not required for the lease, and here is the website for the GPS https://www.finditnowusa.com

You should be able to get a refund for the GPS device, but not a refund for the motorcycle.
