So I’ll but right up front, our second of 5 children is an adult, and decided to cut off ties for reasons I won’t get into
But, prior to this I co-signed a car loan with carmax in California to help him
Soon after he has cut the family off and left us with making the payments or detouring the credit we’ve needed to keep our finances in order
Do I have any way to retrieve the car or remove myself from the loan or defend myself in any way?
My wife is on board with this idea but obviously there was just our child and myself on the loan
So are we just stuck buying this car until it’s paid off or do we have any way forward? We’ve been making the payments on the car for about a year and a half now and it’s all easily documented in our records
Appreciate any suggestions, I know it’s hard to answer family questions for like this, and I’m trying to keep it simple, thank you
