Back in 2021 my wife gave birth. She decided to get her tubes tied and have her IUD removed. Tubes were tied, but late 2024 she goes to the doctor after experiencing some pain/discomfort and they tell her that not only is the IUD still there, but they would need to do surgery to get it out. It somehow became lodged in an area that was unreachable. She’s now recovering but was only able to take a couple days off of work and is experiencing even more pain and discomfort since she can’t properly rest. It seems to me that she’s also having the more intense side effects from after surgery.
Is it worth speaking with a lawyer since she was told the IUD was removed in 21’? She’s going to go through all of her medical paperwork and receipts in the meantime.

Yes. If a physician actually said her IUD was removed or billed for a procedure to remove the IUD and didn’t, I might talk to a lawyer. Though the reality is this is probably a case that hopes to settle because it probably isn’t worth the cost of litigating it.
I’m a bit confused about the sequence of events. She gave birth? Then she had an IUD placed. Then she had a tubal and the IUD removed? How long was that IUD present?
