Location: Michigan
Me and my sister moved into a new apartment in April. We found some beetles almost immediately and found out later they where carpet beetles. Then we found black mold in our AC unit. We reported the problems to the landlord and someone was sent out about 2 weeks later to clean the AC.
But they litterly just wiped off what they could see and it’s already coming back. It’s also leaking into the apartment when it’s on(it was only on for 30 mins to cool it down during the hottest day of the heat wave), not a little either, like cover 1/4th of the living room with water.
My sister is saying we need a completely new ac, because the mold has made it’s way completely through it, you can see it on the out side, and maybe even into the wall.
They have yet to do anything about the carpet beetles. We have told them it’s gotten worse since we moved in, and they should do something before it becomes an actual problem or advances to other apartments.
We have been doing everything to keep the beetles under control or get rid of them. Sweeping and vacuuming every room and vent, spraying pesticide, even moving out the stove and fridge to clean and spray under and behind them.
I learned about the new ‘Right to Repair’ law In Michigan and was wondering if it would include this situation. Any help or ideas are very much appreciated. Ideas on how to get rid of carpet beetles would also be appreciated, idk if that’s allowed in this sub tho.
