My friend Angela’s LA visit started poorly.
Despite knowing I have pets, she complained about my apartment’s smell and immediately booked a hotel room.
The first argument started when I said I needed an hour at my place to pack and feed my animals. She was angry about having to wait to check into her expensive hotel. The second argument was the next morning when I said I was going to my house to care for my pets. She coldly told me to take my things and leave the room she paid for, threatening to call security.
The final blow-up happened at a Dodgers game with her boyfriend Mike, whom I’ve known for longer than Angela. Angela stated she was going to the restroom after picking out a souvenir, but then began screaming at me for not having “Girl Code” because I had briefly stood with Mike instead of immediately following her. She publicly berated me, and when I mentioned feeling like a third wheel, she accused me of having “sugar daddies.” I retorted by questioning who paid her rent.
She then refused to let me ride in the car with them. As I booked an Uber, she violently grabbed for my purse, demanding her ID and causing a stadium cop to intervene. She implied I had stolen it. I threw her ID and a debit card at her, and in front of Mike, referenced the “sugar daddy that pays your rent.”
I went home in a $45 Uber. For the rest of the weekend, I ignored her rage-filled texts accusing me of “exposing” her and ruining her relationship. Instead of our planned horseback riding, I went on a movie date. When I went to retrieve my belongings from the hotel, she refused to see me and had the staff bring my things down. After I stopped sharing my location with her, she sent another barrage of insults.
So, AITA for “exposing” her and leaving her alone for the rest of her vacation? This friendship feels over, as she adds no value to my life.

I mean, how bad does the apartment actually smell? It sounds like there are a lot of pets. Not going to lie, I would do the same with the hotel if the sleeping arrangements were gross. Other than that she sounds horrible.
