Moved from a big city to a small town and I feel like I’ve time-traveled. Anyone else go through this?

Everything closes by 8, people move at half-speed, and everyone knows each other’s business. I appreciate the peace, but the boredom hits HARD. If you’ve made a similar move, how long did it take to adjust? Or did you just plan your escape?

One obvious piece advice is to escape indeed. If it doesn’t fit your personal style, then there is nothing wrong about seeking change for a bigger place.

Alternatively: learn from other people. Try to make friends in your age group, maybe even with similar interests. They know how to deal with that style. Maybe some selection of their mechanisms can fit your needs as well?

Small towns feel like cozy prisons quiet safe but soul-suffocating. Stay long enough to find the hidden charm but don’t mistake comfort for fulfillment.

Gotta get yourself some hobbies my friend, boredom is only as bad as you let it be
