Got diagnosed with a rare Auto Immune disease at 27 AMA

r/

Hey everyone,

Last year, at 27, I was diagnosed with polymyositis, a rare autoimmune disease that completely changed my life. In just three months, I went from being a strong, active young man to nearly paralyzed. It was terrifying—losing the ability to walk, struggling with basic movements, and feeling trapped in my own body.

Thanks to treatment, I’m walking again and have regained most of my strength, but every day, I live with the fear of relapsing. I don’t know what caused this, but I personally suspect the Pfizer COVID vaccine may have played a role. I’ve met a few other people with the same condition who believe the same thing, though there’s no way to prove it.

If anyone has questions, ask me anything.
