My wife is out of town, and I’m gonna spend a few evenings stoned while I binge watch entertaining but not great tv as I play on my phone. What do you recommend?
Not really into anime, reality, or subtitles. Looking for real mid stuff. Previous examples include Twisted Metal, That 90’s Show, teenage Bounty Hunters, and Travelers.
Comments
Original Star Trek from the 60s.
Criminal Minds. Every episode is like a scaled-down cheesy thriller movie.
Cobra kai its about grown men still fighting over high school karate beef. Occasionally emotional, mostly dumb. Unreasonably satisfying.
Trailer Park Boys
Letterkenny
reruns of the original Night Court
I think it is great, but Taskmaster seems like it’d be a good choice for what you have in mind.
The IT Crowd
The original Avengers show. The British one with Patrick McNee and Diana Rigg. I think it’s on Freevee or Prime.
“Tires” on Netflix
If you get stoned and actually wanna see some good shit. Mobland and From are tremendous
Red Dwarf
Check out The Bondsman on Prime
Kevin Bacon is a demon bounty hunter.
Not a lot of thought required. Plenty entertaining.
8 Out Of 10 Cats, lately, or any British comedy panel show really lol
Tires. Season 1 was funny. Season 2 is much better.
Always Sunny and Whitest Kids You Know and MXC
Phone shop. (Channel 4)
If you get Peacock I highly recommend Resident Alien! Silly but super charming and funny. Alan Tudyk and Sarah Tomko are both absolutely fabulous in it (as is the rest of the cast but those are the main characters and they make it pretty special)
Impractical jokers
Workaholics, the League, Shoresy
Community!
Rick and Morty, Community, Resident Alien, The Rookie.
Superstore or Schitts Creek
Venture Brothers.
The Goes Wrong Show.
Galivant.
Wilfred if you can find it, always sunny in Philadelphia.
Reno 911, also AP bio on Netflix was pretty funny at points too.
Beavis and Butthead and King of the Hill. Big Mike Judge fan.
30 Rock
The Joe Schmo show
It’s always Sunny in Philadelphia
Psych; Person of Interest–drama
No lie, I watch Dr Quinn Medicine Woman on weekend mornings while I scroll, fold laundry, play with the kids… My fiance thinks it’s hilarious that I watch it, but she’s starting to like it too. It’s hella cheesy, but there are some killer episodes. Cloud Dancing is a great character. I started some weird obsession with westerns in my mid 30s and I think Dr Quinn caused it.
I also have had a lifelong crush on Jane Seymour. She’s in her 70s now and still looks good. I probably still would!
As evidenced by the many men who like it, Downton Abbey. No kidding. It’s not that it’s dumb, but it has humor in it that is actually very clever, and appeals to you as an adult which isn’t a bad thing. It’s the best series I’ve ever seen, and for the gigantic horde of fans who still love it to this day.
Beavis and Butthead the new recent seasons are just as good as the original or better.
Tacoma FD, Reno 911, community, arrested development
Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell. Stupid as fuck but makes me laugh.
Everyone loves Raymond
Squidbillies.
I think you should leave with Tim Robinson
Jerry Springer reruns, but only in 5 minute samples. It can cause damage in long doses sortof like radiation
South Park
I’m more into cartoons, but Bobs Burgers, Rick and Morty, Solar Opposites, etc. The later seasons of The Amazing world of Gumball are funny too.
For real life stuff, It’s always sunny in Philadelphia.
Tacoma FD. Great series by, and starring, the team that did Super Troopers. Never got much publicity but it has 4 great seasons and sounds perfect for your situation.
Svengoolie every Saturday
3rd Rock From the Sun
Nine Nine!
Red Green Show
Paradise PD on Netflix
IASIP
The 100
Americas Funniest Videos
The Shivering Truth and The Heart She Holler
2 1/2 men. It’s not even that funny. It has attractive women though. Birta and Rose are the best characters. It doesn’t have a story so I can doze off or get distracted and not miss anything.
Letterkenny and Supernatural are on the list.
Then again Letterkenny is funny as fuck and Misha Collins is like my only longstanding celebrity crush so
I’ve been working my way through Xena Warrior Princess on Prime. Totally dumb, but also totally awesome.
Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Spongebob!
Im 18 and a nerdlette so I like going back to the 2010s marvel and dc shows (Daredevil, Punisher, Black lightning, Lucifer). sometimes they’re dumb, sometimes they’re fun, sometimes they’re cool.
Arrested Development
Baywatch.
Tacoma FD. Stupid fun.
Scrolled quite a bit and didn’t see bit mentioned…
The Big Bang Theory always gets a smirk out of me, despite how crap it actually is.
You see the jokes coming from miles away, but especially Jim Parsons can still land them with aplomb.
2 1/2 Men
