Months ago I filed a police report due to a man harassing and intimidating me on public transport, after an indecent act in front of me. Long story short, the police contacted the transport company to retrieve the cctv months ago, but I only just got an email saying that the cctv recorder wasn’t working properly and that there was no footage from either incidents, meaning the cctv had likely been out for months, the company was only made aware of the fault due to this investigation.
This basically renders the case dead, as there is no other evidence.
My father has even said to me that the CCTV cameras at one point were filled with water, and when raised to the crew, his concerns were dismissed, saying “they always do that”.
I’m at a loss of what to do, what I should do. I don’t know if it’s even worth it at this point to try complaining to the transport company. I don’t know how seriously this should/would be taken. I’m tired.
